It is so beautiful to watch. But when someone fights against you with the intent to kill, full aggression and the willingness to survive. It stops looking so pretty. The techniques change and come from a source of foundation and basics.

To survive a skilled advisory. You must have a deep understanding of your foundations.

Why were the samurai's homes so beautiful?
In their time of battle they had to fight and kill in a intimate way. Most did not have fire arms. The samurai believed in balance. They studied the art of killing but also the art of living. The dark and the light.
Through all the ugly sounds and the things they saw in battle, they sought out peace at home. Most called this Zen. Their homes were a sanctuary. In Karate and other arts that could potentially become violent. Zen is just as important to our studies. Zen can come in many forms,
Poetry, music, beautiful gardens, etc. For me l practice (ZEN) peace in my faith in Jesus Christ.
