Congratulations to Peter DiMuro on being honored with Boston Dance Alliance's 2026 Dance Champions Award!

Peter is a dancer, choreographer, director, educator, and arts advocate with a four-decade career in performance, community engagement, and cultural leadership. He has been the Executive Artistic Director here at The Dance Complex since 2013, and is the creative force behind his company Public Displays of Motion. Through both organizations, he has championed dance as a catalyst for empathy, dialogue, and social connection.

Please join us on Sunday, June 28th from 2-5pm for Boston Dance Alliance's Annual Celebration at Boston Lyric Opera, to honor Peter, and his fellow honorees Laura Young and Lynda Rieman.

Moving to Connect is bringing an Intermediate Contemporary Modern Technique Series to The Dance Complex on Wednesdays 6/24 - 7/29!

This class draws from a variety of modern/contemporary dance techniques, somatic practices, and anatomical fundamentals to find connectivity within the body. Participants will learn tools to expand their range of movement while dancing in a fun and supportive atmosphere!

Flamenco Dance Project and Yuling Spanish Dance's ¡Bailaremos! at The Dance Complex this Saturday 6/13 is SOLD OUT!

¡Bailaremos! features the collective artistry of Alfonso Cid, Dustin Carlson, Sabrina Avilés, and Yu-Ling Hu, alongside the talented students of the Flamenco Dance Project and Yuling Spanish Dance.

Mestra Isaura Oliveira returns to The Dance Complex for her Sacred Space: Afro-Brazilian Dance Workshop! Join her on Sundays June 14 & 28, July 12 & 19, and August 2 & 9 from 1-2:30pm!

Through traditional movement and diving into the energy of natural elements and cultural dances, Mestra Isaura's methodology creates a ritual experience of dance movements, chants, body percussion, rhythm, and storytelling.

Sacred Space is a community call to gather and practice the joy of dancing Isaura's Afro-Brazilian movements. This series is open to all; it accommodates all dance abilities and invites all ages, genders and no genders.

Julianne Corey's Glimmer ~ Somatic Improvisation + Emergent Choreography workshop is continuing at The Dance Complex on alternate Saturdays June through August from 10am-11am!

This dance/movement practice blends somatic exploration with guided and collective choreography, drawn from a wide range of classic, contemporary and contemplative modalities.

Glimmer gatherings invite us to explore possibilities and potential of living in our bodies, guided by curiosity, awareness and personal expression. Movement inquiry offers both freedom and container, and sensory-based prompts invite us to tune into our bodies to access the creative intelligence that flows within us; collective choreography emerges from impulse and improvisation.

This Monday! Allison Talis is bringing 'Body in Motion: A Healing Practice' to The Dance Complex on 6/8 from 6-7:15pm!

Navigating being human in these times, we are bounced between anxiety and shutdown, hypervigilance and numbness, exhaustion and overwhelm. "Body in Motion" weaves somatic movement and dance practices that allow us to experience, express, and embody different waves of states of being and feeling. We will anchor in the here and now with breath, awareness, and embodiment.
