Had several hunters in for "rut reports" and to ask.... When should I be in the woods! The best time to be in the woods folks.... ANYTIME YOU CAN GET THERE..... ESPECIALLY FROM NOW TILL GUN SEASON IS OVER! Have seen several deer hit by cars with a good amount of those being bucks. In the past few days I have seen the count of larger bucks increase quite a bit. Last night was my BEST HUNT YET THIS YEAR FOLKS..... If you can be in the woods ALL DAY for the next few weeks.... DO IT! Have had several reports of hunters having good success with calling and rattling the past few days or so! I personally called in a basket 6 at about 3:45 yesterday and a MONSTER 10 at about the last 30 minutes of light yesterday! I was grunting and rattling then waiting and would grunt and bleat about 30 minutes later! The 10 pointer circled me about 60 yards out in a consistant ring trying to get up wind. The darkness beat me to it and I had to wait about 45 minutes after dark so I wouldnt spook him on my way out! GOOD LUCK HUNTERS..... GET IN THE WOODS ANY TIME YOU CAN!!!!
