Mother's Day Thought:
With this today being Mother’s Day, it reminds me of one of my favorite quotes. Maya Angelou, the late author, and poet, was asked once about what her Mother was like. Ms. Angelou said, "To describe my Mother would be to write about a hurricane in its perfect power.”
Now, I don’t know the details of their relationship, but it’s obvious Ms. Angelou was in awe of her mother. It paints a picture of a Mom with extraordinary strength and influence. And, the quote captures the superhero-like quality of all Moms.
Happy Mother's Day to all of the wonderful mothers out there! We celebrate you, your resilience, energy, love, and ability to juggle it all with grace.
Once again, I hope you and your moms have a wonderful day!

Upcoming Runs
Hi All,
Hope all you had a good week!
Here are a few runs I would like for us to target over the next few months:
First of all, unfortunately, I will be out of town this year for She.is.Beautiful in Santa Cruz on March 18.
We have done this for several years and it is a fun run with lunch afterwards. I know many are planning to do this run/walk, check it out and think about signing up…you’ll have a great time!
Secondly, I am planning on running the Wildflower 10k in Morgan Hill on March 26. This is one we haven’t done but is supposed to be a very nice and well organized run/walk.
On May 20 we are targeting the Wildcat Half Marathon in El Sobrante. They also offer a 10k and 5k, whichever works the best for you. Several in our group have run this in the past and I have heard it is a very nice run with beautiful vistas of the bay. This is sponsored by Brazen Racing and they do an excellent job!
May 21 is the Sufer's Path Half Marathon in Capatola/Santa Cruz. This is a very nice run, flat and normally a beautiful time of the year.
A wonderful way of starting the Fourth of July is the Firecracker 10k in Santa Cruz. We have done this run many times and have had a wonderful time…Breakfast burritos served afterwards!!!
Please take a look at these runs and let us know which ones you might be interested in signing up for. Also, if there are others which you might be considering, please let the group know. I will work up a training schedule so that we are all prepared for these runs. For those of you interested in
completing a marathon this year, we will target one towards the end of the year.
Look forward to seeing you at 9am tomorrow morning, Balzer Baseball Field, for a 6 to 8 mile run or walk!
