Morning coffee ride at Bluff Boom

Tomorrow we'll decide what kind of ride we're doing at the shop between 7 and 7:30. The main options are a road ride to the lake and back or a trail ride. See everyone in the morning! 🚴

Tomorrow we're not really going to do a coffee ride. But if anybody wants to do a quick 20 miles tomorrow morning be at the shop at 7:00 a.m.

We are going to try to have a coffee ride tomorrow in spite of the weather forecast. If anybody wants to go we'll be at the bike shop at 8:00 a.m. 😎

We have a fun weekend planned at the Capitol View Park trails in Frankfort, KY! If you have never raced this it is a Kentucky classic! This long, hot, and pedal heavy day is all about how many laps you or your team can do. Duo and team events are treated like a relay where your number plate is the baton. Solo is all about staying steady to chip away the milage and outlast the others. It’s a great time, with fun community around to keep you motivated to do another lap!

We do know that rain is in the forecast - we’re not worried about the trails They are a bit technical and may be slick if it rains, but that’s mountain biking! It will add some challenge to the mix that we don’t typically see. The kicker is lightning of course. We may have some storms mid race, in that case we can pause it and resume when we get cleared up.

Schedule for the weekend
Friday night at 4:30 we will have a ride and hangout remembering local racer Hugh Bloomfield. Hugh put in as many laps as anyone around Kentucky and passed around the time of 12 Hours of CVP last year. If you would like to remember Hugh by doing a lap followed by grilling out please join in. No race check in on Friday. Just grab your plate Saturday AM please.

Saturday check in will begin at 6:00 AM. 12 hour racing starts at 7 AM and the 6 hour begins at 9 AM. If you are on a team, your whole team does not have to be there at the start, just the starting rider. Both races will have a riders meeting 10-ish minutes before the start. Likely expect a goofy start- like a Le Man style. Other fun is that West 6th Brewing plans to be there slinging beverages.

Race details (which we will go over in a riders meeting at the race).
- Only one rider from each team on course at a time.
- The exchange has to happen at the start/finish area.
- If you flat/crash/etc you can bail out anywhere on the course and come to the parking pit area, but you have to renter the course at the start/finish line.
- E Bikes are stuck to one battery/setup. If you have a range extender use it the whole race. No battery swaps. No recharging.

We will likely have a handful more details about weather over the next couple days as we see what it looks like.
