FLCC Logging Sports has had a long standing friendship with Timber Tina’s Great Maine Lumberjack Show !
Every summer, a few students on the Logging Sports Team go to live, work, learn, and immerse themselves in lumberjack culture in Bar Harbor, Maine. Owner "Timber" Tina Scheer provides them with housing and a place to train for the summer season and they come back with more experience and skills to bring to the FLCC Logging Sports Program. It truly is a win-win! There are 4 current students and 2 alumni working for Tina this summer 🌞
This year, the coaches went up to be part of the 4th of July parade and haul back some western red cedar poles to be made into birling logs. What a blast!

Lakers Make History with Open Division Win at Northeast Collegiate Logging Sports Championship!
The Finger Lakes Community College logging sports team wrapped up its season with a historic performance at the Northeast Collegiate Logging Sports Championship, hosted by SUNY ESF at Oneida Shores Park.
Competing against 11 other colleges and universities from across the Northeast, FLCC stood out as the only two-year school in attendance. The Lakers placed first in the Open Division, second in the Women's Division, third in the Men's Division, and fourth with their second Open team.
The Open Division championship marked the first in program history for FLCC. Since the program was established in 1974, the Lakers have now won 41 championships across all four divisions.
FLCC's Open Division team, led by captain Dylan Peck, along with Riley Tierney, Nate Dawley, Kian Glor, Adrian McLean, and Ethan Miller, edged Alfred State by 14 points out of a possible 1,900 in a dominant showing.

We had an absolute blast at the FLCC Logging Sports Spring Derby 2026! 🛶
FLCC finished strong in the Men's division with a hard fought 3rd place, our Women continued their 2nd place campaign with some big wins in events as well. Open held onto a commanding 2nd and JJ in 6th.
Special recognition to our first place Alumni team! They were the only team in their division that placed 😁 We had so much fun watching them and catching up with all the alumni in attendance.
Onward to SUNY Cobleskill this weekend!
