RC Racing in the FLX

No Racing this Thursday at the GCCC. Next race will be Thursday, 6/25.

In the meantime, go check out the Finger lakes Motorsports Festival at the Seneca County Fairgrounds in Waterloo this Thursday, 6/18 to run on the carpet track.

We beat the heat tonight at the GCCC. We had a great turn out and were able to run NASCARs, Losi Sprints and Traxxas Modifieds. The NASCARs were broken up in to Stock NASCAR, Novice NASCAR, Junior NASCAR and our first ever Women’s Novice NASCAR class.
We ran two sets of six heats and six 50 lap features.
The track was slick today. I forgot about last weekends Gem and Mineral show where they were doing crafts in the area of our track leaving a powder coating that I couldn’t see. The sugar water that I put down didn’t last very long.

Shout out to Kylei Waters for winning both Women’s NASCAR heats and coming in second in the main, and Danielle DeGroat for a great evening in her first ever race.

And a final shout out to me for finally knocking Cade off the Losi Sprint pedestal. 😜

Reminder, no racing next week at the GCCC but you can check out the carpet track at Motorama at the Fairgrounds in Waterloo.

We’ll be running Traxxas Modifieds Thursday Night in addition to our NASCAR classes and Losi Sprints. All NASCARs are welcome including Trucks, Asphalt Late Models and Dirt Late Models as long as they’re stock.
I was asked if we could do a women only class for the wives to come down and race. As with anything, three makes a class so we can run it if there’s interest. We had two women in Novice last week, so one more makes it happen.
It’s going to be a warm one but we’ll have the fans going. Bring lots to drink.

Anyone going up to Performance tomorrow or Thursday before coming to the GCCC?

I have to admit, I was really discouraged for tonight’s racing turnout when at 5:51 pm I was the only one in the rink. Patience is a virtue though as people started trickling in. We ended up with a nice turnout with 15 racers, all NASCAR. We had three Jr NASCARs, six Novice NASCARs and six NASCARs. Of those we had three first timers.

The Novice classes run at 50% power and at their request, we ran a fun 30 lapper to finish the night with 13 racers, all running at 50%. It was chaos at its finest with everyone laughing until the end.

The 50 lap main winners were…

The Junior class put on a great show all three races with two of the three on the lead lap and the other only a lap down.

Hopefully next week we get the Losi Sprint class back. We had a few regulars who couldn’t make it tonight.
