Coach Reid here!
This one is special to me. Connie is my mom.
She joined the gym about 6 months ago.
She has always been active — gardening, farm chores, plus speed walks every day — and health-conscious, but she had never done any strength training.
She is 68 and joined because she knows how important strength training is as she ages to keep herself, and especially her bones, strong and healthy! 1 in 5 women over 50 are affected by osteoporosis.
Connie has been with us for about 6 months now, and over the course of yesterday's workout, she just ran a total of 1 mile for the first time in 10 years!!
She is feeling stronger than ever through her normal day-to-day activities and setting herself up to be mobile and active for as long as she can be.
Way to go MOM!!!

Yesterday we announced it. Today let's look at what's in it.
A HYROX race is the same every time, in every city around the world. Eight rounds of running — 1km each — with one workout station after every run.
The 8 stations:
01 — SkiErg (1,000m)
02 — Sled Push (50m)
03 — Sled Pull (50m)
04 — Burpee Broad Jumps (80m)
05 — Rowing (1,000m)
06 — Farmers Carry (200m)
07 — Sandbag Lunges (100m)
08 — Wall Balls (75-100 reps)
No Olympic lifting. No technical gymnastics. Nothing that takes years to learn.
Just running and functional strength — combined into the most honest fitness test we've seen. Your score is your time. Beat it next race.

We're officially a HYROX affiliate gym. 🏁
This is something we've been building toward, and we're fired up to finally bring it to Canby.
If you haven't heard of HYROX — it's one of the fastest-growing fitness sports in the world. Do something today your future self will thank you for.
It can be anything. It didn’t always have to be going to the gym. In fact sometimes it’s allowing yourself to take a rest day. Get out in nature or things of this nature.
Today I (Coach Katie)will be working the morning and afternoon. But in between a standing date with Rory . Today I am present and experiencing the world from the eyes of my almost 5 year old.
Being present is powerful.
