Meet the Shaper Behind Our Bunker Renovation: Tony Russell!

As part of our $5.4 million golf course renovation, we’re transforming our bunkers with the help of one of the most talented and respected shapers in the game.

We’re incredibly fortunate to have Tony Russell bringing his expertise and craftsmanship to our course. His impressive portfolio includes renowned destinations such as Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, Pasatiempo, Clear Creek, Desert Mountain, Claremont Country Club, Sand Valley, Rodeo Dunes, Portland Golf Club, Oswego Lake Country Club, and many more.

Tony’s talent and experience are helping shape the next chapter of our golf course, and we couldn’t be more excited to see the results!

Braden Milroy of Milroy Golf Systems is applying a liquid polymer to the Better Billy Bunkers. The polymer is being sprayed over the 2-inch layer of clean pea gravel.

The liquid polymer binds and glues the pea gravel together, creating a stable surface while still maintaining its porosity. This prevents the gravel from becoming compacted, ensuring proper drainage and preserving the bunker’s intended performance.
