🏆 ATA McMurray Named 2026 Northeast District School of the Year

We are incredibly honored to announce that ATA McMurray Martial Arts has been named the 2026 Northeast District School of the Year by ATA International.

The Northeast District includes ATA schools from Maine through Virginia, making this recognition especially meaningful among hundreds of academies across the district.

This award was selected by ATA International using academy wide criteria & data driven results, & we are especially proud to be the first academy chosen for this new recognition.

But more than anything, this is a team win.

This award belongs to our students, families, instructors, staff, & the entire ATA McMurray community. Every student who trains, every parent who supports, every instructor who leads, & every family who believes in what we do helped make this possible.

We are grateful. We are proud. And we are more motivated than ever to continue developing confident, disciplined, and capable leaders through martial arts.

What an incredible day at ATA McMurray Martial Arts!

We were honored to host today’s Regional Judging Clinic & welcome 40 black belts from across our ATA family.

It was a special afternoon of learning, leadership, teamwork, & growth. Seeing so many dedicated martial artists come together to sharpen their knowledge, support one another, & continue raising the standard for our tournaments was truly inspiring.

Events like this remind us that ATA is more than what happens on the mat - it is community, family, & a shared commitment to excellence.

Thank you to everyone who attended & helped make this clinic such a meaningful event. We are grateful to be part of such an amazing region & proud to have hosted this important training! 🙏🏻

This is a HUGE moment for our ATA McMurray & ATA Imperial family!

Congratulations to our students who earned a place in the World Top Ten standings & qualified for the Tournament of Champions at World Championships!

Being ranked among the best competitors in the World is an incredible accomplishment. It represents countless hours of training, courage under pressure, discipline, sacrifice, & the heart to keep pushing toward something bigger.

We are beyond proud of these students - not only for what they achieved, but for the way they represented our schools, our instructors, their teammates, & their families throughout the tournament season.

To our ATA families: thank you for the travel, the time, the encouragement, the early mornings, the long days, & the constant support. These accomplishments are a reflection of the incredible community we continue to build together.

At ATA McMurray Martial Arts, ATA Imperial Martial Arts, and McMurray’s Best After School & Summer Camp - a state licensed childcare program - the safety, well-being, and development of our students is, and always will be, our highest priority.

We want to take a moment to reaffirm the standards, structure, and environment we maintain every single day to ensure a safe, positive, and professional experience for every student and family.

1) Certified & Professionally Trained Instructors
Our instructors and staff are professionally trained and held to strict standards, with many holding advanced certifications and all progressing through ongoing training and certification requirements to ensure a safe, respectful, and structured environment.

2) Background Checks & Ongoing Accountability
All instructors and staff meet or exceed state childcare licensing requirements, including comprehensive background clearances, and are held to the highest standards of conduct and professionalism across all of our programs.

3) Open & Transparent Environment
All programs are conducted in an open and observable setting, allowing parents and families to remain engaged and aware at all times. Our facilities are also equipped with security cameras throughout training areas to further support a safe, secure, and well-monitored environment. We strongly believe visibility creates trust, accountability, and a better experience for everyone.

4) Parent Involvement & Accessibility
Parents are always welcome to observe and remain present during classes and programs. We encourage families to stay engaged and connected, and when appropriate, parents are welcome to participate in training alongside their child. Open communication and accessibility are a key part of how we operate.

5) Private Lesson Policy
For all private lessons, a parent or guardian is required to be present at all times, ensuring full transparency, safety, and accountability in every session.

6) Independent Ownership Matters
While we are proud members of the ATA community, each ATA school is independently owned and operated.

This week, I’m in St. Louis, Missouri continuing my journey toward earning the rank of Senior Master in ATA Martial Arts!

Even after 30 years of training, the mindset stays the same - always learning, always growing, and always pushing to be better. This process is about more than rank… it’s about leadership, legacy, and continuing to set the example for our students.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to train alongside incredible instructors from around the world and to bring that knowledge back to our students at ATA McMurray and ATA Imperial.

The goal is July 2026… and we’re one step closer.

ATA McMurray Martial Arts Academy and McMurray’s Best After School & Summer Camp are proud sponsors of the Trinity High School Drama Department and their production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory!

Our team had the opportunity to attend the show, and it was absolutely fantastic. The students and staff put together an incredible performance filled with talent, energy, and creativity.

We’re especially proud of one of our own - ATA student and staff member Cameron Rockwell, who is part of the production. Seeing our students shine both inside and outside the martial arts school is something that means a lot to us.

If you haven’t seen the show yet, we highly recommend checking it out and supporting these amazing performers. Trinity’s drama program continues to do an outstanding job bringing productions like this to life for our community.
