Every person has a fatherhood story.
I have the unique opportunity to hear the fatherhood story of so many people. It’s a common connection point and deeply personal conversation that gets to the heart of a person.
Unfortunately, so many stories are filled with the hurt of an absentee father or a deep father wound. This is what I’m working to change through Daddy Saturday
There are also stories of Hall of Fame Dads whose fatherhood story is legacy building. Last year at the Fatherhood Festival we worked with Christian McCaffrey to honor his dad Ed McCaffrey with a Hall of Fame Dad Award. If you look beyond the field there are an abundance of incredible fatherhood stories in the Pro Football Hall of Fame and in this year’s NFL playoffs.
After meeting the McCaffery family, it’s no surprise to see Christian having success on the field with the San Francisco 49ers, establishing himself as a leader on a new team, handling change well, and centering his life and relationships on the word of his Heavenly Father.
This is the kind of legacy that’s possible when you’re a present father. Notice I said present and not perfect. Show up for your kids consistently, be intentional and engaged and watch them reach their God given potential that will be more than you can ask or imagine.
Consider your own fatherhood story and if you’re a dad, how do you want to write your story?

Fatherhood Festival Memory #4
The Attention Center
Last Sunday after the I had the honor of speaking at the Canton, OH Attention Center. I love the fact they call it the “Attention” Center rather than the “Detention” Center.
That was the core message Anthony Munoz, Michael Munoz, Chris Draft, Kwad Smith and I were able to share with these 10 young men.
The outside world tells them they are felons, fatherless, and fearful of their future. We were able to learn their names, speak life into these young men and tell them their stories are just being written. While this chapter may not be what they want it to be they have the power to write the rest of their story. We explained the fact that all of us have a calling on our lives, a unique purpose and how to discover your calling.
All of us have the same opportunity. No matter what you’ve done in the past or where you are today, we all have the same opportunity to write the next chapter in our story!
At the end of our time together we shared the Good News of the Gospel and four young men made decisions to receive Jesus!
The Fatherhood Festival wasn’t designed to be a singular event it’s a movement calling dads to be engaged in their homes, reaching out to the kids in the community who don’t have dads and ending fatherlessness. We’re all called to
Psalm 68:5 (Father to the Fatherless)
We’re starting in Canton, let us know where you’re joining the movement.

Fatherhood Festival Memory #3
Watching my friend David Tyree interact with the kids and share his testimony during Overtime about how to make the ultimate catch in life.
David is famous for making the “helmet catch” from Eli Manning in Super Bowl XLII as the NY Giants defeated Tom Brady and the New England Patriots
More importantly David is famous at home as a loving husband and father to 7 kids!
He may not be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, but he’s in God’s Hall of Fame and is sharing his powerful story to help others make the same decision. Daddy Saturday Noggin Boss
