Coach Shula was enlisted in the Ohio Army National Guard and in 1952 was activated with Company C, 145th Infantry Regiment in anticipation of deploying to Korea. The deployment didnt happen, and Coach Shula returned to the Cleveland Browns afterwards before beginning his legendaty coaching career.

Dolphins Hall of Fame coach Shula dies at 90 Don Shula, the NFL's winningest coach who led the Miami Dolphins to the league's only undefeated season, died Monday at the age of 90.
