The Canton Lions are back HOME and taking on the Orchard Lake Cardinals and we’re going GOLD for Childhood Cancer Awareness!

Canton Lions Parents Meeting

Lions families, please join us Wednesday, September 16th at 6:30 PM at the Shed for a brief parents meeting to discuss important league updates.

We appreciate everyone making time to attend so we can keep our Lions families informed and on the same page as we move through the rest of the season.

Lions families, we want you to know that our Board is aware of the incident that occurred today at Wisner Stadium in Pontiac, which resulted in the games being cancelled.

Unfortunately, an altercation between adult spectators escalated and a weapon was discharged.

Our hearts are especially with the young athletes and families who were present. Our kids work incredibly hard to prepare for game days, and no child should have to witness an act of violence at a youth sporting event.

As we move forward with the remainder of our season, please know that the safety of our Canton Lions athletes, families, coaches, volunteers, and spectators remains our highest priority. We will continue to be vigilant, work closely with our league and host organizations, and take appropriate precautions to help ensure our Lions families have a safe environment both at home and away games.

Youth football and cheer should always be about our kids, our community, sportsmanship, and creating memories they can be proud of. We ask everyone across our football community to help us protect that environment.

Please continue to look out for one another, remain aware of your surroundings, and immediately report anything concerning to a Board member, coach, event staff, or appropriate authorities.

Thank you for continuing to support and protect our Pride.

WELCOME TO CANDY LAND, LIONS FAMILIES!

It’s HOMECOMING GAME DAY and there’s only one thing sweeter than Homecoming… HOME SWEET VICTORY!

We’re ready for a FULL day of football, family, food and Lions fun as our Canton Lions take on the Westland Comets!

Come hungry and ready to have some fun! We’ll have food trucks, 3D printing vendors, custom tumblers, Lions gear, hand sanitizer carriers, tumbler accessories, keychains, custom lemonades, a dirty soda bar, cotton candy and MORE!

Parent Recognition will take place before each game as we celebrate the families behind our athletes and kick off each Homecoming matchup!

BOARD NOMINATIONS: 80s EDITION

Since the internet decided we all needed to see what we would’ve looked like running the Canton Lions in the 80s… we obviously had to participate. 😂

Questionable fashion choices? ✅
Running youth football & cheer? Apparently also ✅

Now back to 2026 business before someone asks us to break out the shoulder pads.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Parent Meeting last night! As discussed, nominations for 2027 Canton Lions Board positions are officially open through September 30th.

All additional nominations must be emailed directly to the Canton Lions Secretary.
If you nominate someone who was not nominated for that position during the Parent Meeting, that nomination will be sent out for a second nomination, and the nominee will also need to accept the nomination before moving forward.

Voting will take place in October.

We appreciate our Lions families getting involved and helping shape the future of our Pride.

And now that the official business is handled…

CANTON LIONS PARENTS MEETING TONIGHT!

Lions families, don’t forget our Parents Meeting tonight, Tuesday, September 8th at 6:30 PM at The Shed!

We’ll be sharing important updates, upcoming events, and information as we continue through the season.

We will also be taking nominations for Canton Lions Board positions for next season. If you’re interested in getting more involved with the organization or know someone who would be a great addition to our board, tonight is the opportunity to submit nominations.

Board voting will take place in October. Additional information regarding the voting process will be shared as we get closer.
Our organization is only as strong as the families and volunteers who continue to show up for our athletes and our Pride. We hope to see you tonight!

PRACTICE CANCELLED TONIGHT

Canton Lions families, due to the storms that moved through our area today, all football and cheer practices are cancelled for tonight.

We know today’s weather has impacted school releases, caused flooding and power outages, and made for a hectic afternoon for many of our families. Tonight, we want everyone to have the opportunity to get home safely, get settled, and take care of whatever they may need to after the storms.

Please stay safe, Lions! We’ll get back after it together at our next practice.
