Life doesn’t pause for your goals. Especially when you're a parent.
Competition prep was going smoothly. The training math was lining up perfectly.
Then came that noise from the baby monitor. Coughing, wheezing, and a 1 AM ER trip with a sick toddler. The next few days were a blur of rearranging childcare, booking follow-up appointments, working long shifts, and managing little bodies with big feelings—all layered on top of the stress of traveling to compete at the Arnold Sports Festival.
Under perfect conditions, you expect a perfect outcome. In reality, you rely on your foundation.
On the national stage this weekend, I went 3 for 6, hitting a 171kg total at my lowest bodyweight ever. It wasn't a perfect day on the platform, but it is a performance I can be proud of. I couldn’t have done it without the unwavering support of my wife and my coach through every step of this cycle.
Parents get this. Life doesn't stop, and conditions are rarely perfect.
That is exactly why I coach the way I do. Whether we are working on barbell mechanics or nutrition habits, it is never just about the weights or the food. It’s about engineering a foundation of 'deep health.' It's about building a resilient machine so you are strong enough to handle whatever life throws at you at 1 AM.
If you are tired of feeling run down and want to start rebuilding your own strength, my 4-Week Parent Protocol kicks off this week at Legacy Sports Complex-Canton . We train while your kids can be in the 5 PM speed and agility class.

Canton & Woodstock Parents: Are you sacrificing your own structural integrity for your kids' schedules?
Between working at a desk all day and playing chauffeur to youth sports all evening, it is incredibly hard to find time for your own physical health. You end up with tight hips, a stiff back, and a body that feels older than it should.
I’m William, a Nuclear Engineer turned Strength Coach operating out of Legacy Sports Complex, and a parent of 2 littles.
I designed The Parent Protocol specifically for you.
This is a 4-Week Reset focused entirely on reversing the damage of sitting and stress. We don't do complex barbell work in this class. Instead, we spend 60 minutes focusing on deep mobility, core stability, and functional bodyweight strength.
It is designed to be low-complexity but incredibly high-yield for your joints and posture. Rebuilding control and confidence in your own body.
The Logistics:
When: Tuesdays & Thursdays @ 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM (Perfect for the post-work/after-school window).
Where: Legacy Sports Complex, Canton.
Capacity: I cap this at exactly 6 parents so I can personally audit and correct everyone's mechanics.
You spend enough time supporting everyone else. Take 60 minutes twice a week to rebuild yourself.

When he first came to me, the goal was simple: rebuild strength after a quad tear.
Six months later, he was cleared for all activity — three months ahead of schedule.
But instead of stopping there, he decided to chase something new: Olympic weightlifting.
This weekend, one year after starting together, he’s stepping on the platform for his first competition. 🏋️♂️
His story is proof that recovery and progress are possible at any age. You can restart. You can rebuild.
Drop a 👏 if you believe strength training changes lives.

Happy birthday to Fred who had been coming to see me since mid October recovering from his quad tear injury and surgery. He had all the paperwork to start load bearing exercises. We started on mobility work, locomotion and stretches. We also got under the bar and started squatting to a 27.4 inch box.
6 months later, he was completely cleared for activity by his doctor thanks to his hard work. And today we celebrated his 59th birthday squatting without the box to parallel up to 70% and using a 14.8 inch box to get the rest of heavier weight in. Today he hit 175 lb. for 5! Last week he deadlifted 255 lb for 5.
Fred listens to instruction, does his mobility homework, and puts in the mental work to be better every session. I look forward to seeing how far he goes!
