1.2 million Texans have had their voter registration suspended ahead of one of the most significant midterm elections in history. "The suspended registrations span the whole state, but also some of Texas’s largest counties, including Dallas County, where more than 129,000 voters are suspended; 56,000 voters in both Collin and Denton counties; and over 73,000 voters in Tarrant County. Voters have until October 5 to update their registrations and can check their status on the Texas secretary of state’s website, at a county election office, or by mail," per Hafiz Rashid of The New Republic.

This is Richard Donoghue, a senior official in Trump’s own Justice Department, testifying under oath and reading from notes he took during a December 2020 call with the president. Trump’s Justice Department investigated his election allegations and repeatedly told him they had found no fraud capable of changing the outcome. Trump’s response: “Just say the election was corrupt and leave the rest to me and the Republican congressmen.” This is not an audio recording of Trump. It is sworn testimony supported by contemporaneous handwritten notes from an official who participated in the call. Trump was not asking the Justice Department to discover the truth. He was asking it to publicly announce his preferred conclusion anyway, giving his effort the credibility of federal law enforcement. That is not election integrity.
