Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of our amazing fans, community members, and donors, we proudly raised an incredible $800 for the cause. A huge thank you to everyone who wore pink, cheered us on from the sidelines, and contributed, as well as a special shoutout to the Greely field hockey team for sharing the pitch with us for such a meaningful and competitive game. 🏑✨ **What a night at Hannaford Field!** ✨🏑

The Cape Elizabeth field hockey team put on an absolute masterclass to secure a dominant 4-0 shutout win over Poland on Senior Night! 🥳

It was a true team effort from start to finish, highlighted by a stellar offensive attack where Olive led the charge with 2 goals, while Minna and Wylie each added a goal of their own. The passing game was equally electric, featuring fantastic setups with 2 assists from Zabina and 1 assist from Audrey 🎯.

Defensively, the Capers were impenetrable under the lights: Grace, Maddy, and Rubina brought an unstoppable force on the back line, while Olive, Finn, and Wylie controlled the pace with a strong offense. Most importantly, we were thrilled to honor our incredible seniors during their final home game of the regular season, celebrating the heart, grit, and legacy they bring to this program every single day.

What a win, what a team, and what a night for the Capers! Let's keep this momentum rolling! ❤️

***Player Spotlight*** Minna Goethert
Our latest player spotlight shines on a remarkable sophomore: Minna Goethert! 🌟 After last year’s standout debut season where she earned the choice distinction of being the only freshman to start on Varsity, she has returned to the pitch this season as a dominant, unstoppable force. 🏑🔥

Minna commands the midfield with a physical, high-energy presence ⚡. She uses her body masterfully to protect the ball, shut down opponents, and transition to offense 💪. Backing up her physical game is elite conditioning; as one of the fittest and fastest players on the roster, she routinely outruns the competition from the opening whistle to the final horn.

Whether it’s the peak of the season or the deep off-season, Minna is always working—either dominating the pitch or putting in hours of extra reps in her basement 🏡🏑. This tireless work ethic has continued to elevate her performance 📈. She has mastered several advanced three-dimensional (“3D”) skills, demonstrating exceptional control along the sideline and the ability to effortlessly lift and maneuver past opposing defenders ✨.

While her deep passion for the game means she can be tough on herself, this season highlights a powerful evolution in her mental game and presentation. She has done intentional work to channel that fierce emotional energy into steady, poised, and highly focused leadership on and off the field 🤝. Even with this growth, she has not lost an ounce of her sharp humor and spunky personality that make her truly unique 😄💖.

Her relentless work ethic, unmatched drive, and growth mindset make her an absolute joy to coach 🙌. We look forward to her continued leadership and impact on our team’s success this season! 🚀🏆
