Our mission has always been to provide a fun and family-friendly place to learn ballroom dance. From our beginning almost 11 years ago, we have held the cost of the Friday Night Dance Lessons at $5/person to make it accessible to everyone. Nevertheless, operating costs have increased greatly, and we can no longer delay raising the cost for participants.

Effective OCTOBER 17, 2026, the fee for the Friday Night Dance Lesson will increase to $10 per person at the door, cash only. This is necessary for the continued operation of Cape Ballroom. The timeframe and format will remain the same.

Thank you to everyone who has been a part of Cape Ballroom. May God bless you.

We hope to see you at our next Friday Night Dance Lesson on September 25, which will still cost $5 per person.

Friday Night Dance Lesson featuring Latin Cha Cha.
Friday, SEP 11th, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

"The Cha-Cha is a lively, syncopated Latin American ballroom and social dance originating from Cuba in the early 1950s. It is famously characterised by its distinct "cha-cha-chá" triple-step rhythm, playful energy, and expressive Cuban hip motion." (Google AI)

Just $5 per person at the door, cash only. No bills over $20, please. Doors open at 6:45 p.m.

The evening begins at 7:00 p.m. with a group dance lesson including dancing practice to mixed ballroom music until 9 p.m. with instructors available. Line dances are included.

No smoking. No alcohol. Water is available. You may bring your own snacks and non-alcoholic beverages.

Cape Ballroom Friday Night Dance Lessons are held from 7 to 9 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, 2731 Thomas Drive, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701.

No dance on Friday, September 4, due to Labor Day weekend, so we thought we would introduce you to another dancer. Find out, in her own words, why Spencer Wareing has enjoyed Cape Ballroom.

The atmosphere is always so welcoming and warm. I enjoy the flexibility for new and veteran dancers, the constant laughter, and the easiness of making new friends. I love ballroom dance and I am so thankful for this space to dance in Southeast Missouri.
