It’s been a month since the Catfish won the Prospect League Championship! Let’s take a look at the record year this team had…

333 team batting average is video game stuff! Broke the old record of (.320) set by the Paints in 2023.

528 Runs Scored! Best the previous record held by the Dans (483) back in 2019. 55 more runs in 5 less games played! Let that sink in. .818 win % (45-10) is crazy! Broke the old record (.732) which was set by the Hoots in 25’. The Catfish broke the RBI record of (424) set by the 2012 Paints as they had 448 this summer in only 55 games.

45 regular season wins, old record was held by the 2019 Cape Catfish (43), in a 60 game season. This years Fish did it in 55 games!

This Catfish had a win streak of 20 games this season! The 20 game win streak is a new Prospect League record smashing the old record of 17 games set by the 25’ O’Fallon Hoots. Fish set the fewest losses at 10. Which broke the old record set by the Hoots (15), just last summer.

The season Collin Senkpeil had was off the charts! His incredible .432 season batting average was a new high surpassing Vic Figueroa of the 23’ Chillicothe Paints.

Winning championships and maintaining the consistency we’ve shown since 2019 only happens when an entire organization works in lockstep, supported by great leadership and ownership.

From day one, our leadership team set high standards and ambitious goals. Being recognized by the league and our fellow directors for what we accomplished in 2026 is an incredible honor.

On behalf of Catfish ownership and the front office, thank you to our entire staff. To everyone working behind the scenes, in the press box, on the plaza, and across every part of our game-day operations—this award belongs to you.

To our coaching staff, athletic trainers, and players: you were outstanding. The standard you set this season is the benchmark we will strive for year in and year out.

To our host families who step up and take in 40 kids they’ve never met year in and year out and make them feel like part of their families for 10 weeks each summer, this award is for you as well.  

Lastly, to our fans, thank you!  The support Cape Girardeau has shown this organization the past seven summers is the reason we strive for excellence year in and year out!
