Doesn’t everyone make Dad, who’s never raced a kart before, scuff tires for 80ish laps? Then Mom washes those tires, in the dark, in the middle of the road. (Ethan did at least dry a few sets 🤣). You can tell it’s Maxxis MaxxDaddy week!

(And won’t forget the tire guy. Tim did do a few things today too 😆)

Zoey Provenzano - Brad may say he’s coming for your ride after today, but I bet tomorrow when he wakes up he’ll change his mind!!

Enjoying an off weekend this weekend before the biggest race of the year next weekend. If you’re in the area next weekend, come out to Fairbury American Legion Speedway to cheer on Ethan. If you’re not, watch live on FloRacing. Events like this won’t happen around here very often!

This is an event we typically have to travel a few hours for, so it’ll be nice to have it so close to home.

I’m not sure there’s ever been a weekend we’d like to forget more. If it could go wrong, it did.

1. kart fell off the stand TWICE on the way up
2. the first practice destroyed the front nose from digging into the track
3. the kart stand broke…going down a hill, with the kart on it
4. Ethan was foot to the floor wide open and just watched the other karts go by
5. pretty sure we melted in the heat 🥵

Ended with 1 3rd, 3 4ths, 1 5th & 1 6th. Doesn’t sound too bad until you add there was only 6 karts on day 1 & 9 on day 2. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Here’s to hoping we used up all the bad luck this weekend and it’s only up from here.

Bedrock Raceway recap (7 karts):

🟦 Plate:
Heat 1: p3 ➡️ 🏁
Feature: p1 ➡️ p2
Had a good lead but tires didn’t refire well after a late caution, buddy Hayden got the win.

Jr Pro:
Feature: p1 (qualifying) ➡️ back of the pack after we got right reared & sent off the track ➡️ 🏁🏁

We might have melted a bit too much in the heat 🥵, but still had a blast celebrating a good racing friend. And we got it done on Burris tires, making the tire guy some $$ too.

Off next weekend for family Christmas (yes…in August!) and then who knows where.
