"It's not always the case that you can just get on the phone and give your sort of big pitch that you've prepared to do in a conference room. Sometimes it's just like, "Hey, I want you to talk to my buddy and tell him what's up." "Hey, here's what's up!

By the way, I never thought of this before so I'll just follow the format. "It used to be that if you had a newsletter, whatever, and you made $1 million off of your newsletter, then you just lived on it. But today, those newsletters are very valuable...

It's called publishing and it's a new publishing environment, and the opportunity to build a newsletter that revenues $1 million, maybe only makes $100,000, but you could sell that for $10 million today. That's a small window that's opened up in the world. It's a crazy change. It's because publishing has continued to be in decline that people are looking to build new publishing companies.

I know what you're thinking. How can a newsletter that you publish one email a week on the dumb stuff that you do with a picture of your kid playing hockey be worth $10-20 million? It makes no sense.

Well, here's the last five that transacted for $20 million, and they don't even have the list and the membership that we have." Hit the skepticism. "So this is what we're proposing. We're going to grow our newsletter to $30 million. Here's specifically what the newsletter is.

We publish one thing on the world of finance a week, give an example, the newsletter goes out, people open it. We have open rates and click rates. And ultimately, the newsletter makes $100,000-150,000 a year in net income. There're three other newsletters that do this.

Two of them have been bought. One is very right-wing and so we kind of are out here on our own, but I'm not really looking to sell it today unless there was somebody that came along and could tell me it's going to be used for good, not evil." So you could see how that is a narrative structure that I can just follow with some of the tools and we can whip it out."

🔝Why You Should Study Comedians?🤔👍🏻

The people you should be most afraid of taking your job and your deal and your company away from you, are comedians.

👉🏻The reason they can't is that they drink too much and they can't do the math, but if they stop drinking and they can do the math, they'll be amazing entrepreneurs because of this one reason. They understand story structure.

👉🏻If you watch, either the Daily Show or, on the left or some, I don't think the right has comedy, is there any comedy on the right? But if you watch these really good comedians and people who produce a lot of content, not like a, so in the old days you'd have like a Chris Rocker or Richard Pryer and what they would do, is they would work for like a year, on a one-hour comedy show. Right? And it would be super funny and they did have the comedic structures.

👉🏻You look at something like the Daily Show like they produce that much content every single day. And the reason they'd have it is that they have the narrative structures that work. And so, that is what we're going to get to, after this opening sequence, is wheeling in front of you and having you fill out and understand the narrative structures.

So that way it doesn't matter what the deck ultimately looks like, or how many words are on it. If it tells, if it matches the- it's not a comedic structure but it's a finance, or it's a sales structure that the buyers respond to and we know they respond to, then you can go in and raise the money...

If it doesn't match the structure that they respond to, then it's impossible. So again, if comedians could do the math, they would take your company away from you. They're very disciplined in terms of, psychological structures that work. They're very disciplined in terms of psychological structures that work. And, the great thing does anybody listen to comedy regularly? So, for those of you who don't, just do it on Spotify, right? And you'll start to see, it'd be good if you read a little bit about comedic structures. You're going to see structures here, but you'll see things are just funny.

👉🏻They're funny because they have these the one that I, the comedic structure I know the best is the reversal, right? Where you set somebody up to think the third thing in the list is going to be like all the other things in the list and then it's something totally different."
