Oklahoma State transfer Sophia Ellestad joins a Baylor roster that returns three of its five lineup players from a 25th-place finish at the NCAA Championship.

Sophia, who has four years of eligibility remaining, was a two-time TAPPS state champion at Houston St. Agnes Academy and was ranked as high as 85th on the AJGA Rolex list.

Oklahoma State transfer and Houston St. Agnus Academy alum Sophia Ellestad has signed with the Bears and will have four years of eligibility remaining.

Ranked as high as 85th on the AJGA Rolex list, Sophia won the 2024 Mizuno-Greyson Sigg Junior Championship and was a two-time TAPPS state champion.

MEMORIES MADE

Playing back close to her home in Fullerton, Calif., junior Yurang Li went toe-to-toe with some of the best college golfers in the country for 65 holes.

"I know Yurang will be back here next year, and she's going to finish what she started this week," coach Jay Goble said.

For the third time in the last five years, the Bears have an individual advance to the final round of stroke play.

Junior transfer Yurang Li, a California native playing about an hour from her home, shot a 1-under 71 on Sunday and is tied for 18th at 3-under 213, one of nine individuals moving on off non-advancing teams.

CALIFORNIA DREAMING

After coming up short in the 15-team cut at the NCAA Championship, the Bears' team season ends.

But junior Yurang Li is playing in today's fourth and final round of stroke play.
