Congratulations to Asher on his stunning new Wilier Filante SLR!

For the frame Asher chose this beautiful White/Gold colorway —a special finish originally created for Mark Cavendish for the 2023 Tour de France. To complete the build, he went with Shimano Dura-Ace and a seriously impressive set of HED Cycling Vanquish Pro 62mm carbon wheels. For the finishing touch we wrapped the bars with the Arundel Rubber Gecko bar tape.

This bike turned out absolutely gorgeous, and we couldn’t be happier for you, Asher! Here’s to many amazing rides ahead. Enjoy the new bike!

Mike Gregory picked up a Wilier Cento10 Hybrid Dura Ace Di2 Air38 Pedal Assist and took it straight to the mountains in Vail, Colorado. He recently rode up Vail Pass and sent us this shot.

“Love this bike and it changes colors all the time in different lighting! So cool. It rides so well. It’s amazing and I’m having a blast riding the hills out here in the mountains. Thank you for all your help along the way.”

This morning Kyle and Micah rolled in from Minnesota to pick up Kyle’s new Wilier Filante SLR.

But this wasn’t just a bike pickup.

They also brought us our first shipment of HED Wheels—a small, family-run American company that has been designing and building high-performance bicycle wheels in the U.S. for decades. HED has a long history in racing and carbon wheel development, and we’re excited to bring that story to Velo Star.

We got Kyle’s bike dialed in, answered questions, loaded up the first batch of HED wheels, and then took Kyle and Micah out for a ride around OKC to make sure everything felt right.
We’re building something with HED that goes beyond just putting another wheel brand on the wall. We’ll be working closely with the HED family, telling their story, collaborating, and getting these wheels out on the road with our community.

Kyle and Micah made the drive all the way from Minnesota, so we figured the least we could do was give him the full OKC welcome.

This is our first load of HED. There’s a lot more coming. 🚲

Congratulations to Kyle on his new Filante SLR! Kyle opted for the black matte Filante frame choosing SRAM Red for his groupset. After narrowing down the other components the finishing piece to complete the build were these gorgeous Vanquish Pro HED wheels. Thank you for choosing us to build this dynamite bike, Kyle. We are sure you will have many great times on it!
