14U Black has had a very eventful last few weeks.

Two weeks ago, Nolan Torrez was involved in a car accident on I-69. His teammates have rallied to support him while he recovers from his injuries sustained in the accident. The Saturday following the accident, 14U Black played a pair of games against Nolan’s old Fort Wayne PSM Force team. We at IYHA would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Force 13U team and the PSM Icehouse PSM Icehouse for their recognition and support.

Nolan has begun his recovery process at home now after his hospital stay with hopes to return later this season. We are all wishing Nolan a speedy recovery!

This past weekend, the team competed in Nolan’s honor at the Flatwater Tournament in Ann Arbor, MI. They finished 4-0 with Will Duggan securing the championship banner in the shootout.

10U Gold went up to South Bend this weekend for the 200x85 Notre Dame Shootout. They finished 4th with a 3-2 record, after sweeping the Jr Trevians, but falling to two AAA teams.

Coach Joe summarized the weekend perfectly:
"We punched a little above our weight class this weekend, taking on some tough AAA competition. We didn’t get every result we wanted, but we came away with some great wins against higher-ranked CSDHL teams. Proud of this group for competing, getting better every game, and making some great memories along the way!"

The team was also able to take in a Notre Dame game, and had some fun around the hotel! Regardless of the outcomes, these are the memories that will last a life time.

10U Black & 14U Red, both led by Coach Hiott, were in Detroit this weekend for the Big Bear Ursa Primo tournament. 10U Black made it to the final but were sadly defeated, and 14U Red left Michigan with a record of 2-2.
Both teams also came together for a bowling excursion Saturday afternoon. Love to see some team building among Jr Fuel teams at various ages!
