Sometimes a mother signs her daughter up for riding lessons—and finds her own way into the saddle. ❤️🐴
That’s part of the story behind Jeannie and Ingrid Benz, and I’m so happy to see these two members of our Talbot Street Farm family featured in Current in Carmel!
Their story captures so much of what I love about teaching: watching riders discover their courage, build trust with a horse, and find friendships along the way. Getting to share that experience as mother and daughter makes it even more special.
This article also brought back wonderful memories of growing up around horses in Carmel, when pastures and barns were familiar sights and we could ride to places you wouldn’t dream of reaching on horseback today.
So much has changed, but I still get to spend my days doing what I dreamed of as a little girl—and helping others find their own joy in horses.
