🌙⚽ **UNDER THE LIGHTS IS BACK!** ⚽🌙

Do we feel drastically behind getting this posted?

**Yes.** 😂

Did we FINALLY get our act together and update the flyer?

**Also yes.** 🙌

Have we actually printed said flyers for everyone yet?

**Technically… no.** 😬

But do we think we still have friends who will help us with that?

**We hope so. Please still be our friends.** 😂

BUT — the important part is that **Under The Lights is coming back Saturday, October 3!** 🎉

🌙 **UNDER THE LIGHTS SCHEDULE** 🌙

⚽ **U10 — 7:00 PM**
⚽ **U12 — 8:00 PM**
⚽ **U15+ — 9:00 PM**

And we have a fun update for this year:

🙋‍♀️🙋‍♂️ **ADULTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO PLAY IN THE U15+ GAMES!**

We’ve had adults jump in during past years, and it has always been a HUGE hit, so this year we’re officially encouraging it!

Depending on the size of each group, we may also ~~ask~~ **beg** a couple of adults to help us ref or even out teams with some of the younger groups. 😂

Do participating adults need to sign a waiver?

**Probably a solid idea.** 😂 We’ll have more information for our brave 18+ participants that evening.

# # # 💵 REGISTRATION

⚽ **$5 per player through September 27**

⚽ **$10 per player after September 27 through GAME TIME**

Payment and registration can be given to a **board member** or dropped in the **dropbox by the clubhouse door.**

And, as always, players who start in one age group are welcome to **keep playing up into the older groups with their adult’s approval!** 🙌

🍿 **Concessions will NOT be open**, so please plan accordingly.

BUT...

👕 We WILL have some older GTFC/Caro Soccer Club merchandise available at **discounted prices!** If you’ve ever wanted to snag some soccer gear on the cheap, come take some of it off our hands. Seriously. We have too much stuff. 😂

📄 And yes — **we WILL have printed flyers available by Picture Day!**

More information on that coming later this week!

⚽ ARE THE FIELDS READY? Technically… YES. 😂

Did Mother Nature FINALLY help us out and bring enough rain to give us green, soft fields for our players?

Yes. 🙌

Did that same rain also wash away approximately 95% of the lines we had already painted?

Also yes. 😑

So, could we actually SEE the darn lines we were supposed to be repainting?

No. Not always. 😂

Does that explain the occasional oval, extra swoop on a center circle, and lines that seem to wander off toward absolutely nowhere?

WE COULDN’T ALWAYS SEE THE DARN LINES, OK?! 🤣

Are we therefore going to call all of that a little extra jazz and move along?

Absolutely. ✨ Please don’t ask questions.

Did the paint machine almost best us, resulting in yelling, funny looks, and somehow wearing approximately half the paint AND the water from the hose?

Possibly.

But did we win?

ABSOLUTELY. 💪

Did the whole experience also give us blisters while simultaneously providing an impromptu concert for some much-needed stress relief?

You bet it did. 🎶😂

Bottom line?

⚽ ALL. FIELDS. ARE. PAINTED. ⚽

Some have a little more pizzazz than others. Some may contain geometry not currently recognized by FIFA. And if you see a line that doesn’t appear to serve a purpose…

No you didn’t. 👀😂

The fields are green, they’re soft, they’re painted, and they’re ready for our players this weekend! 💚⚽

We could spend today answering questions about schedules and registration and all those little last-minute details…

And we have to say… seeing all of those colors together with the new Greater Thumb FC logos on them makes this whole rebrand feel a little more REAL. 💚

Months of planning, registrations, team building, coach recruiting, scheduling, field prep, jersey-color decisions (SO. MANY. COLORS. 😂)… and now we’re just 6 sleeps away from opening day!

We cannot WAIT to see these jerseys in use and running all over the fields next Saturday. ⚽

⚽ **Calling Our Varsity Soccer Players!** 📣

We’re getting ready for the fall season, and we’re looking for a few **varsity soccer players interested in stepping onto the OTHER side of the whistle!** 😎

We are incredibly lucky to have an **amazing referee who handles all of our U12 and U15 games.** He does a fantastic job with our players and has been a huge part of our program.

There’s just one small problem...

**We still haven't figured out how to clone him.** 😂

He's one person, and one person can only cover so many games **and see so many things during a game!** So this fall, we're hoping some of our varsity players might be willing to jump in and help.

🟢 **U12 & U15:** Work alongside our experienced referee and help cover games. If you've never officiated before, this is a great way to learn with someone experienced right there to help!

🟢 **U10:** We're also looking for varsity players interested in officiating U10 games. These can be handled by **one confident/experienced player OR two varsity players working together.**

# # # What's in it for you?

You can choose **ONE of the following:**

🎓 **NHS / community service hours** — GTFC (legally Caro Soccer Club) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and we're happy to sign off on your volunteer hours.

**OR**

💵 **$5 per game** — if you'd rather earn a little spending money for your time!

This is a great opportunity to give back to the younger players coming up behind you, learn another side of the game, and help us make sure everyone gets to PLAY the games we've worked so hard to schedule! ⚽

📸⚽ PICTURE SCHEDULE + JERSEY COLOR REVEAL! 🎨

We know everyone is getting excited for the start of the season, and we LOVE seeing all the practice schedules already popping up! 💚

We also heard the question more than a few times at the coaches meeting…

“But what color are we?!” 😂

Well, the wait is over! Since it’s also time to announce our Picture Day schedule for Saturday, September 19, we figured we might as well give you both at once!

📸 A few important Picture Day reminders:

Please arrive 10–15 minutes BEFORE your scheduled picture time. As always, Quad absolutely ROCKS and tends to run ahead of schedule, so arriving early helps keep everything moving smoothly.

⚽ If your team is playing another GTFC team that day:
If pictures run into your scheduled game time, no worries! Get those smiles and pictures taken first, then work with the other GTFC team to get your game started afterward.

🌎 If you're playing an OUTSIDE organization:
Please pay close attention to your scheduled times, since we'll need to stay on schedule for those games.

⚽ **THE WAIT IS OVER — GAME SCHEDULES ARE LIVE!** 🎉

We apologize for the delay getting these out to everyone. To put it simply… **life has been lifing HARD lately.** 😂 But we’ve worked through all the moving pieces, outside leagues, field availability, and approximately 47 different schedules, and they are officially LIVE!

📱 You can find your team’s schedule in **TeamSideline** and on our **website**.

**One important note:** While we have done our very best to make sure everything is accurate, we coordinate games with several outside clubs and verify those games as we get closer to each date. Occasionally, an adjustment may be necessary—or we may discover that somewhere along the way we made a good old-fashioned human error. 😅

👉 **Please keep an eye on TeamSideline and the website throughout the season for the most current schedule.** If anything changes, those will always be updated.

In other words: screenshots and printed schedules are great… **until they aren’t.** 😂 Check the live schedule before game day just in case!

Thank you for your patience while we pulled everything together. We did our best to get everyone plenty of games, balance schedules, coordinate with our neighboring clubs, and get another great season ready to go.

Now please excuse us while Scheduling Department quietly backs away from the computer. 😂⚽💚

⚽ Coaches Meeting This Saturday! ⚽

The fields are marked, the season is getting closer, and we’re officially getting ready for fall soccer! 💚

A reminder to all of our coaches that our Fall Coaches Meeting is this Saturday, August 22 at the soccer fields:

⚽ U6 & U8 Coaches — 9:30 AM
⚽ U10, U12 & U15 Coaches — 10:00 AM

We’ll go over important season information, answer any questions, and hand out your coach bags and equipment so you’re ready to get started with your teams!

If you’re unable to attend Saturday, please reach out to us ahead of time so we can coordinate another time to get your bag to you.

⚽ Fall Season Update — We’re Officially Rolling! 💚

We have some exciting updates as we get ready for another season of Greater Thumb FC soccer!

🎉 ALL COACHING POSITIONS ARE FILLED!
A huge thank you to everyone who stepped up to coach this season. We truly could not offer this program without our volunteers, and we appreciate every one of you!

📱 Teams are LIVE in TeamSideline!
There have been a few adjustments to team assignments as we finalized rosters, so please take a minute to check TeamSideline for your player’s current team and coach.

📅 Schedules are in progress!
We’re working through the final pieces now and will get those posted as soon as everything is confirmed. Please hang tight just a little longer!

👕 Jersey orders have been submitted!
Another big preseason item checked off the list as we get everything ready for the season. We can’t wait to see all those colors out on the fields! 🎨⚽

📋 COACHES: Our preseason coaches meeting will be Saturday, August 22 at 10:00 AM. We’ll go over season information, expectations, schedules, and get everyone ready to go.

Things are officially coming together, and we’re excited to see everyone back on the fields soon!
