Posting this for Corinthia Acevedo bc she's not on socials anymore. She was a beloved member of our staff. Some of you remember her wonderful classes and energy.

My son Cain was diagnosed with autism and a speech delay at just 18 months old. Since then, he has worked hard through years of therapies—ABA, speech therapy, music therapy, and physical therapy. Cain has made beautiful progress. He is able to express some of his basic needs now, but remains mostly non-verbal and struggles to understand or be understood in conversation.

Recently, Cain had the opportunity to do a short trial at the NeuroSolutions Center of Austin, and the results were very encouraging. The center uses science-based, personalized therapies like neurofeedback and brain mapping to improve brain function. Many children with neurological challenges have experienced life-changing results from this kind of care.

Unfortunately, this treatment isn’t covered by insurance, and the out-of-pocket cost is significant. But we truly believe this therapy could open a new door for Cain—giving him tools to communicate, grow in independence, and deepen his connection with the world around him.

We are trying to raise the funds to pay for this life changing therapy for Cain. We are asking for your help. Come engage in activity and enjoyment at Addison Circle Park in celebration of Parks and Recreation month. Begin the night with a Rock N Roll performance by Creedence cover band, Texas Clearwater Revival, followed by sunset yoga hosted by nationally recognized Yoga Coach, Ricky Tran. End the night with a glow party featuring the band Extended Play and help support Special Olympics Texas by purchasing a glow kit.
