Breast cancer is the second most common cancer among women in the U.S. and early detection is critical. As we wrap up the 2026 Running of the Cartersville 10K-5K - we wanted to give one last SHOUT OUT to all of Sponsors, Participants, and Volunteers (and CPD) for helping to make it another amazing event!!! After tallying up ...post-expenses we raised a little over $3,300 in 2026 for Shoes4Kids! This helps to make sure that we can provide good shoes for kids in Bartow, Floyd, Gordon, and Polk Counties when contacted by School Couselors and also helps fund out annual scholarships to graduating High School Seniors. So THANK YOU again to all who participated!!! We look forward to seeing you again in 2027!

Incredible Fall Morning in Marietta GA for the inaugural running of the “Old 41 5K Run”! Hosted by the Burton and Matthews families this was an AMAZING Year 1 race on historic Old 41 along the base of Kennesaw Mountain! Organized through Aspen Collective, a family charitable organization, and co-hosted by C.W. Matthews Contracting Company race funds are going to a TREMENDOUS Cause in “City of Refuge.” City of Refuge is a faith-based nonprofit founded in 1997 to help individuals and families in Atlanta transition out of crisis and into stability. From its campus in Atlanta’s West Side community, it has served more than 35,000 people through programs in housing, workforce development, youth and education, health and wellness, and anti-trafficking. We are so excited to be apart of this year 1 event and to watch it grow for years to come!! So THANK YOU for having the crew from Wire2Wire Running out to time it! We are here to serve!!) PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT – Specific to Lane Closings for Saturday’s 47th. Annual running of the Cartersville 10K:

The 47th. running of the Cartersville 10K to benefit Shoes4Kids will be held this coming Saturday morning, October 24th 2026. The following surface streets will be impacted for up to a 2-hour period between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM:
*Pine Grove Road (between Cartersville Primary School and the entrance to the Cartersville Soccer Complex)
*Douthit Ferry Road
*Indian Mounds Road / Etowah Drive
Whereas NO roads or routes will be closed entirely, there will be intermittent lane closures during the duration of the race and the Cartersville Police Department asks that all residents and motorists in that area please use caution and to please be on the lookout for runners during that time period as this event raises money for an outstanding cause in support of the Children in our local community.
