My campaign will be coming to a close in 9-weeks. I’ve enjoyed my journey as I’ve grown as a man this past year. I would like to share some insight as a business owner, corporate employee, and fellow human.

1.) Yes, I would do it again.

If you’re looking to get out of your shell, grow as a person, gain wisdom, I would recommend. But, I think you should ask 2 questions:

1.) Am I contributing to more of the same?
2.) How is my relationship with my Creator?

Because, we already have self-serving people who are owned by parties. DUG-IN PARTISANS!

AND in a world that is ego-centric where people do what feels good and prioritize their pleasure over all else, I think it’s critical that you answer to something bigger than yourself. People claim to know how to serve when they haven’t fallen to their knees, recognized their shortcomings, and served someone bigger than they are. Politicians need to stop acting like gods and serve God.

2.) Has your business been affected?

It’s hard to say, but if you’re going to not place your child in a program, because of a letter behind my name, I think that doesn’t align with the principles that I teach. I am at a place where I had to stand up against what I’m seeing while I still have the energy and innovative spirit to make an impact, not just regurgitate the talking points of CNN or Fox News.

With that said, if we want people that are not retired dug-in folks to start running for office, we must create an environment that welcomes or tolerates working folks that sign-up.

3.) The Hate
People will type nasty things. I encourage you to block them. Personal attacks have ZERO place in our political conversations. There are those that receive legitimate threats, but I believe those are few and far between. We still are the best country on earth and rather peaceful, regardless of the clips and sound bites, but we do have a mental health problem. Other than getting a dirty look or two at Target, I haven’t received much hate. Also, because I know that politics is corrupt, and speak out against ANY and ALL hypocrisy. I am not running to join the fold, I am here to disrupt the status quo. I get more hate from people who are partisans on my side when I stand up for what’s right. HOWEVER, the idea that people want those who are not far left and right, it doesn’t show on social media. I get far more hate when I stand up for something that should be OVERWHELMINGLY a shared value than I do love. That’s hypocritical.

4.) My Heart
I’ve grown as a man this past year. I’ve had moments of joy and optimism…as well, I have been disheartened by the POLITICS of POLITICS. Most stay away. It’s very humbling. A group of 20 is said to be a large group. I didn’t believe it until seeing it with my own eyes. Democrat or Republican do not attract the crowds. Even with millions of dollars being poured into small races, the money does not represent the support except for wealthy people who want a piece of the action. People are overwhelmingly disavowed, jaded, uninterested and just plain DONE with politics. And that saddens me. My hope is that people watch me silently and turn out en masse to vote to prove a point, but we will soon see.

In closing, I’ll leave that up to the voter, and I’m ok with that. BUT understand that I’m fighting for the heart, soul, and decency in political discourse and across our American culture. I ask you to get on board.

I’ll be very busy next year as I have been pulled into transform the Cybersecurity Governance, Risk and Compliance for critical infrastructure. I don’t have time to hate on people and practice B.S. politics that villainize our neighbors. If I am elected, I’ll have to stick to what matters most, defending your wallet, your safety, privacy, and constitutional rights. Anything else is just a distraction from politicians that fail us over and over again.

I appreciate you,
Bryson Johnson
