My dog was misdiagnosed.
And it made me realize how often this happens—especially in our physical and mental health.

Diagnoses carry weight.
But they’re not always right.

Always ask questions. Always advocate for yourself.

Have you ever caught yourself saying, *"I’ll be happy when…"* or *"I’ll wear the bathing suit when…"* or *"I’ll feel confident enough to date when…"*? These thoughts may seem harmless, but they send a powerful signal to your body—a signal that says safety and happiness are somewhere *out there,* just beyond your reach.

Here’s the truth: if your sense of safety or peace is tied to something constantly changing, like how your body looks, you’ll never feel truly safe or grounded.

And even if you wind up in your "perfect body" you will feel peaceful or safe for a short time but you will also feel trapped because now your peacefulness or safety is conditional - it is dependent on your "perfect" body - and that is a TRAP. Do you know how hard it is to keep your body at that level?

When you focus your sense of safety or peace on something deeper—like your inherent worth, your resilience, or your commitment to self-love—you free yourself. Then, no matter how your body shifts or evolves, no matter what new physical challenges you take on or how much weight you lift, you’ll still feel safe, strong, and whole.

So, let’s start today. Let’s redefine what feeling peaceful or safe in your body feels like—not as something conditional, but as something that’s always with you, ready to support your journey every step of the way. You deserve to feel secure, confident, and empowered in the here and now—because you are enough, just as you are. 🌟

Trauma changes how we see ourselves, our bodies, and even our relationship with food. 💔 For many, disordered eating isn’t about the food—it’s about coping with pain, shame, and emotions that feel too big to carry.

Swipe through to learn how trauma, including C-PTSD, can shape eating behaviors and how we can begin to reconnect with our bodies in a kinder, more loving way.

🩷Body image is often said to come last in terms of healing your relationship with your body. Still, it's often poor body image and body dissatisfaction that creates tremendous inner conflict, which results in chronic dieting, impulsive and compulsive eating, as well as compensatory behaviors with food.

🏵️While feeling positive about one's body might be a huge step right now—and it can feel IMPOSSIBLE for many—part of healing involves changing one's inner dialogue.

Our body is our home—treat it with love, gratitude, and kindness. Beauty shines brightest when you embrace your uniqueness. 💖

Are you ever bummed about how your body looks?

What can you do to feel better about it?

Spoiler alert: it’s not about “fixing” or "changing" your body.

Sure, your body might change (like shedding a few pounds or getting toned), but that doesn’t guarantee you'll feel better about it.

The catch? Your happiness could end up feeling conditional.

You might start to feel anxious and scared about the thought of going back to how things were. That’s a tricky spot to be in.

The truth is, our bodies go through changes as time passes.

How we see our bodies isn’t just about what’s on the outside.

It’s really about what's going on inside our heads.

Trying to lose weight or restrict what you eat isn't going to solve binge eating or any disordered eating habits. In fact, it just keeps the cycle going. 🚫 True healing is all about finding nourishment, being kind to yourself, and letting go of that diet mindset. Let’s shift our focus to what really counts: your overall mental and physical well-being. 💕✨ One of the toughest parts for anyone dealing with this stuff is deciding to ditch dieting and the weight loss game.

That can feel super discouraging, and it might leave folks feeling really stuck. 😥 The tricky thing about the binge and restrict cycle is that, sooner or later, the emotional eater ends up taking the win because the struggle between those urges is just too intense.

The real way out is to grasp what’s going on without trying to "fix" it by changing how you look. Even if you drop some pounds or tone up, your feelings about your body might only get conditional.

That just leads to more fear and anxiety since you’ll always worry about slipping back to your previous self. It’s definitely a trap, but you can break free from it.
