On Saturday, October 24, Raleigh Burlesque and Marley Minx invite you to THE VELVET SÉANCE: A Haunting Burlesque Experience!

ONE WEEK UNTIL RHINESTONE(D) WEDNESDAY!

Next Wednesday, grab that costume you keep saying you're going to finish and bring it to Cell Block #9.

From 6–8pm on October 14, Didi Dagger is hosting our FREE monthly open studio. Work on costumes, crafts, rhinestones, repairs, props, or whatever else is currently taking over your workspace.

Nothing to work on? Come anyway! Hang out, reconnect with classmates and performers, meet somebody new, and spend the evening with your burlesque community.

A big Raleigh Burlesque shoutout to Didi Dagger.

Didi has only been performing burlesque for about a year, give or take a few months, but you’d be hard-pressed to find someone who has packed more into that first year.

They’ve been performing. Emceeing. Taking classes. Kittening. And, because apparently doing all of that wasn’t enough, they’ve also been teaching sewing and costuming at Craft Habit here in Raleigh.

We love investing our time, energy, knowledge, and opportunities into performers and cast members who are clearly investing in themselves. And it is VERY obvious that Didi is serious about burlesque.

We’ve had a front-row seat to watching them grow by leaps and bounds in a remarkably short amount of time.

On Thursday, September 17, Didi stepped up at the last minute to emcee the Shimmy Seminar Student Recital. They walked into a situation that needed someone to take the reins, grabbed the mic, and absolutely delivered.

Then, just a couple of days later at Peace, Love & Pasties, Didi was scheduled to run trivia during the show. When we suddenly found ourselves down a kitten, Didi once again went above and beyond. They didn’t wait to be asked. They just… started kittening.

That kind of initiative says a LOT.

Didi is building their skills, expanding their experience, showing up for their community, and saying yes to opportunities to learn something new. They’re not just waiting for someone to give them a chance—they’re actively becoming the performer they want to be.

And honestly? We LOVE watching it happen.

Keep an eye on Didi Dagger. This one is just getting started.

Raleigh Burlesque is hiring stage kittens and crew for TWO upcoming Halloween shows:

Saturday, October 24 — The Velvet Séance at Cannonball Music Hall
Friday, October 30 — Hex Appeal at Bitter Social Club

Newbies are absolutely welcome. Stage kittening and crew work are some of the best ways to learn how a burlesque show works, meet performers, get backstage experience, and become part of the local burlesque community.

We’re looking for reliable people who are ready to work, learn, have fun, and help us make some Halloween magic.

Velvet Moon is back, and this time Miss April Moon is bringing a Hispanic Heritage Month celebration to the stage at Ritchy’s!
