Learning to d**k may be the most important skill you learn as a new pickleballer. The d**k is the most fundamental shot in pickleball. It is a shot from the kitchen line that bounces in the opposing kitchen. It prevents your opponent from running up to the net and smashing the ball because of the non-volley zone rules.

This makes it an unattackable shot because your opponent has to let the ball come to them, rather than running to the kitchen to hit it before it bounces. Want to learn the art of the d**k?
