AFC U19 Girls ECNL RL
For this special Halloween edition, we’re turning back the clock and trading our usual player photos for a look at Halloween tournaments from years past!
Meet three members of Coach Ray Head’s U19 Girls ECNL-RL squad who have grown up playing the beautiful game throughout the East Bay.
🎃 CASSIDY BERG // 22 // GOALKEEPER
A former Castro Valley Soccer Club player, Cassidy has spent the past four years with AFC and also represents Castro Valley High School. Her favorite soccer memory? Starting this season off strong by taking home the trophy at the Davis Tournament!
👻 OLIVIA BENSON // 10 // CENTER MIDFIELDER
From Castro Valley SC and Clippers FC to AFC, Olivia has spent her entire 11v11 career wearing the AFC badge. A Castro Valley High School player, Olivia’s favorite Halloween team costume was “The Scoring Dead,” while one of her favorite soccer memories was reaching the Phoenix Cup semifinals with teammates she’d played alongside for four years.
🦇 ANNA DOEPPNER // 24 // MIDFIELDER
Anna’s soccer journey has taken her through Clippers FC and Alameda Soccer Club before spending the past four years at AFC. A Bishop O’Dowd student, Anna’s favorite Halloween tournament memory was winning the 2019 Boo Cup in a penalty shootout! But for Anna, the best part of soccer isn’t the trophies—it’s all the friendships she’s made along the way.
⚽ FROM LITTLE GHOULS TO U19 BALLERS!
Different clubs, different journeys, and plenty of memories along the way. These three are a reminder that youth soccer is about so much more than the final score. It’s about growing up together, building friendships, and making memories that last long after the final whistle.
Happy Halloween from AFC! 🎃
