BearStream

Only had a few hours on the Bearstream this weekend, but made progress! Got the trim back up and polished the back light panels. IF ANYONE KNOWS ANY POLISHING COMPANIES here in the valley let us know. Lots of little pieces like letters who could benefit from a professional touch.

It may not seem like much, but installing these stabilizers took two days of failure, cursing, and Nigel threatening to “Burn the bloody thing to the ground”. But now, the floor is super stable! 50 year old bolts that have their heads break off can really be a bitch! lol

If you just don't give up, all dreams are accomplishable. Polish 2 done!

Started on the second polish today on the airstream. It’s more subtle, but really brings it to a mirror polish! Also a TON faster. 😮‍💨 You can see the line to the left of me.

In spite of some rain, major progress on the first polish pass this weekend!

Read online that another sanding pass with 800 grit helps down the road. So one last pass it was! You can start to see a little shine…Also took all the lights, badging, and vent covers off. She’s ready to polish next week! An aside: if anyone wants a 1970’s TV antenna, we’ve got one. lol

Sanding rounds complete! Next week, we polish her to a mirror shine. ✨

Stage 1 (or at LEAST 6) of Airstream polishing complete! 💪 220 grit sandpaper.

Windows are restored, tinted with ceramic coating, and installed! 💪 That back window is NEVER coming out again! Lol

Another few small steps on the Bearstream! I cooked on the roof while we closed the old A/C roof opening. And put the final front banana skin on.

It’s been a few weeks, but lots to share! The front of the airstream is now completely sealed and riveted! 💪 Windows next week!

Rivets and insulation this week! The whole underside now has heat barrier (a must in the desert!) and the first skirt has now been installed. The frame is officially connected to the shell!
