Hi friends! I thought it was probably time to re-introduce myself and the family behind Birdwood Market. 🤎

I’m Kylleigh — wife to an amazingly supportive husband who somehow continues to go along with all of my crazy ideas 😂, and mom to three pretty incredible kiddos.

Our oldest is a senior at Kettle Run High School, serves as the FFA President, and plays Varsity Football. Our middle son is a freshman at Kettle Run, plays Freshman/JV Football, and has earned his spot as our family’s resident engineer/handyman — if something needs to be built, fixed, or figured out, he’s our guy. And then there’s our daughter, our animal lover and bookworm. She loves horseback riding and hopes to become an equestrian veterinarian one day. 🐴📚

We moved to Catlett in 2021, but farm life has always been a part of me. I was raised on a farm in Southern Virginia, and I always dreamed that someday I’d be able to raise my own kids with a little dirt under their boots, animals around them, and an appreciation for where their food comes from.

When we moved here, the plan was simple: put out a little roadside stand with some fruits, vegetables, and farm-fresh eggs.

And then… sourdough entered the chat. 😂🍞

Somewhere along the way, I became the neighborhood “bread shed lady,” and that tiny roadside stand turned into something so much bigger than I ever imagined.

Over the past four years, Birdwood Market has grown and changed right alongside our family. What started as a simple little idea has become a place where I get to share so many of the things I love — fresh sourdough, farm-raised food, homemade goods, and a little piece of our farm with all of you.

And truly, none of it would have happened without this community.

Every loaf you’ve picked up, every dozen eggs, every new product you’ve tried, every post you’ve shared, and every time you’ve told a friend about our little market has helped us grow.

So if you’ve been here since the little roadside-stand days or you just found us last week — thank you. 🤎

We’re so grateful you’re here, and I can’t wait to see where this crazy little idea takes us next.
