Huge congrats to Katelyn Tungland for winning our 8 week Spring into Shape Nutrition Challenge☀️

We wanted to take a moment to highlight our XL seniors and update our community on their future endeavors. It has been a joy to watch them grow as athletes and individuals.
First up, we have
Luke ran track and played football at Union High School. Last year, he qualified for state in the following events:

Distance Medley
This year, he qualified for the following events:
4x200
4x400
Sprint Medley
Luke plans to study Agronomy at Iowa State University. Although he is not continuing athletics, he will continue to run for the rest of his life🤩
Luke’s favorite XL Drill: 40s🏃
His advice to younger athletes is “Work hard, make buddies, and don’t p**s Travis off.”
His favorite quote from Trav is: “I think a baby giraffe is more coordinated than you.”🦒
Luke, we’re so proud of you and appreciate the positive example you set for others around you. We’ll miss you and wish you the best at state track and at ISU this fall!🫡

Today we’re having a tough conversation👀
We’re all chasing new skills. Whether it’s your first pull-up, muscle up, double under, etc., the reason you haven’t gotten it yet is usually the same. You either haven’t accumulated enough quality reps, or you don’t have the strength base (yet!).
Reaching those skills can be frustrating and time-consuming, but we’re here to help🤝

Happy Monday, friends!🤩
Today we’re covering why your warm ups matter and why you should take them seriously! At The Gym, our warmups are intentional. Our warmups help with preparing your body to increase blood flow to muscles, raising your core temperature, activating the right muscle groups, and mentally preparing you for the workout🫡
We get it, sometimes the warmup can feel like “extra” work before the actual workout starts. There is a purpose, and if you stay intentional, it adds up more than you think!😎
