GOOD EVENING FROM TPM!

“When you were a child, someone had to work hard to make you miserable. Today., someone has to work hard to make you happy. Time to understand that the source of human experience is within oneself.” Sadhguru

A blissful state of being requires a blissful inner state of seeing.

I hope you find this within you.

It’s not outside of you.

It’s within you!

GO WIN!!!

GOOD MORNING FROM TPM!

Do you remember the old school, Old Milwaukee commercials?

“It doesn’t get any better than this.”

I beg to differ.

Milwaukees best ice reminds me of looking down the barrel of a beer b**g when I was 16.

Voodoo Ranger Imperial IPA’s used to be like a lover I couldn’t keep my hands off of.

I used to drink top shelf IPAs til the cows came home.

I probably got in the pastures and mooed with them.

Disclaimer: the OLD MILWAUKEE and MILWAUKEE‘S BEST ICE were my father in laws.

When my drinking hit the out-of-control booster button, it felt like I would never land in a conscious state again.

I found myself laying in a surreal bed that I made for myself.

I sailed a surreal ship that I built.

Why was I a sh*tty captain for so long?

ALCOHOL!

Maybe it works for you.

Maybe it doesn’t.

I’m sure I could have a few here, and a few there…

BUT

I’m just worried a few here and there would become a Sixer or a Twelver here and here.

Overcoming oneself is an immense responsibility that requires determination, detail, and the willingness to soul search every corner.

It can be done.

We can all do it if we desire it.

Whatever dopamine game you’ve dumbed down to have addiction befall you there is a way out.

I couldn’t say how hard or easy it will be for you.

I could say that I believe in you and I am hoping the best for you!

GO WIN!!!

GOOD EVENING FROM TPM!

I am blessed to work at River Hills school.

We have a trailhead located right from our parking lot into Hartman reserve.

Hartman reserve has over 6 miles of hiking trails.

This is an awesome resource for our students to get out into nature and challenge their bodies.

A couple of our classes are able to complete a nice one mile hike during their PE time.

On my lunch break today, I took a power hike and came across this deer.

On any given day, I will see turkey, deer, pileated woodpeckers, owls, squirrels, rabbits, hawks, and the occasional garter snake.

If you happen to have a resource near your work that can be utilized for physical activity I strongly encourage you to use it.

When we step into nature we calm the mind and body and get a burst of creativity and focus.

Let’s be outside more than we are inside!

Think of small ways you can incorporate activity into your day and it’ll make a huge difference in your overall health.

Make it a great Friday evening!

GO WIN!!!

GOOD EVENING FROM TPM!

This picture was taken on a vacation we took in West Virginia in 2021.

A rainbow can bring joy or misery to you depending on what state of being you are in.

When you are joyful when you see a rainbow it is full of splendor and promise.

When you are miserable and see a rainbow it is full of sorrow and despair.

Ever since I began sharing so much personal stuff on my TPM page I have received a couple dozen messages from people in the last handful of months.

I have also had complete strangers come up to me and start talking to me about stuff.

It is very humbling and I am very grateful when they reach out to me.

75% of these people I have known at one time or another in my life, the rest are strangers.

They are sharing heartfelt stories with me.

It is mind-boggling the things that people go through in their lives.

It’s also crazy when you hear the stories of people you thought were perfect.

It just makes me realize more and more we all need to lead with more compassion and less judgment with each person we come in contact with.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

The fact is, every day should be about mental health awareness.

Every day, we should be aware of how we are breathing and how it is impacting our physical and mental health.

We should be aware of how our nervous system is taking all of the noise in from the outer world and how this is destructing us from the inside out.

Every day, we should be aware of how we are thinking, and how it is impacting our physical and mental health.

We should become aware of our self-limiting thought patterns that we ruminate on like a cow grazing the pastures all day long.

Every day, we should be aware of how we are perceiving our world and how this could be impacting our physical and mental health.

We should become aware of how our perceptions can potentially limit our growth.

Go towards the light, you become more light.

Go towards the dark, you become more dark.

If you dream less dreams, you accomplish less in life.

Who is comfortable in their own skin?

Who is not?

What did you go through?

What did she go through?

What did he go through?

Who is holding on for dear life?

Who looks like they are winning, but are really dying inside?

We can’t judge a book by its cover.

There are too many novels laden with grey areas in the landscape of life.

I’m walking around this world assuming everyone is suffering something I know nothing about.

I’m trying to be the light so I can help others see the light.

I can suffer just like you.

I’m not special.

I’m just trying.

REACH OUT…

SPEAK OUT…

BREAK OUT…

GO WIN!!!

GOOD MORNING FROM TPM!

Over the weekend I stayed at a hotel in Iowa City.

While draining the lizard, I noticed this photo.

It instantly brought back memories.

A big corn stalk with a sunrise or a sunset.

Detasseling was a big part of my late childhood and adolescence.

My memories are mostly pleasant…

BUT

If you ever had the privilege of detasseling, you know that some of them can’t be.

I saw the sunrise while detasseling…

AND

I saw the sunset while detasseling.

I suppose most farmers wouldn’t sympathize with me on this because it’s old hat to work when the sun is rising and setting.

The first time I was on a crew I was 11 years old.

My cousin Rich and his buddies had contracted their own land and I joined them for a few days and a few bucks.

I spent at least 9 of my summers detasseling up until I was 20 years old.

The less joyous moments of detasseling:

Wet corn leaves scraping you up as your morning alarm clock.

Muddy, uneven ground that felt like quicksand as you trudged away.

With no shade trees in sight, you’d look like a lobster at the end of the day.

Have you ever heard of butt sweat?

If it’s a mile long full-pull-row get ready to be challenged by your perception of time.

Now to the more joyful realities of detasseling:

Finding a good buddy to chitchat with as you pull tassels.

The bus ride to and from so you can doze off ever so briefly.

Snack time.

Lunchtime.

Pay day.

I got into such a great conversation with a buddy of mine my last year with a crew that I missed so many tassels I got fired ha!

The supervisor came out in front of everybody and dropped all the tassels down and said all pi**ed, “who’s in this row?”

Haha!

I bought all of my skateboards with my detasseling money.

I’ve worked a lot of jobs that would be considered sh*tty by most.

I am very thankful for that.

I doubt they even have detasseling crews anymore because of advanced technology…

BUT IF THEY DO

We should start a ‘ONE’ day movement where every teen has to get up in the morning and do a 12 hour day in the field!

I wouldn’t trade it for the world!

GO WIN!!!

GOOD EVENING FROM TPM!

What does it take to do something every day?

The simple answer is making a decision to do it every day.

Simple right?

DECIDE-make the choice to start or stop something.

DO-perform meaningful actions to back up your decision.

DELIVER-the decision and the doing deliver the desired result.

What are the barriers in your way?

How can you maneuver around them?

I remember when I first started doing the Wim Hof Method followed by cold exposure.

It was 2,193 days ago.

I woke up on the 25th of May in 2020 and DECIDED I was going to DO it everyday.

I did the breathing followed by the cold shower as I cursed away.

I kept doing it with uncertainty of what would transpire.

In time, I found that it DELIVERED the desired results I was seeking.

What was I seeking?

I wanted to empower myself to do anything I desired in this life.

TPM is working diligently to achieve my goals and destiny as a person.

Many things are figured into this formula, but the most paramount to this is developing a bulletproof mindset.

I keep at this day after day.

It doesn’t mean that there aren’t roadblocks or setbacks that come my way.

It means I am aware that this is part of the challenge, and I embrace it with full force.

When I first started doing the breathing technique, I followed along on a YouTube video of Wim’s voice guiding the breathing.

My family would often hear and see me breathing and playing the video aloud because I didn’t have headphones at the time.

About a month later, I purchased the Wim Hof app and began performing it on the app.

Eventually, I took the Wim Hof live fundamentals course.

The course was very educational and beneficial.

A few months after performing the breathing exercises my daughter made me this cute little booklet about what she saw me doing.

I’ve done a lot of positive things with my kids watching.

I’ve also done a lot of negative things with my kids watching.

I want to do more positive than negative.

I want to instill more light than I do dark.

I am busting my ass to become who I need to be for myself and everyone around me.

Always remember, our kids are watching us.

Make the right moves as much as you can.

Don’t beat yourself up if you don’t all the time.

Regroup and reset for the next moment.

Sometimes I am treading water.

Sometimes I am resisting backtracking.

Sometimes I am thriving…

BUT

I’M ALWAYS TRYING!

GET OUT AND TRY!

GO WIN!!!
