GOOD EVENING FROM TPM!
This week’s PROFILE OF AN ELEVATED ERNIE’ goes to assistant Cedar Falls boys football Coach and offensive coordinator,
Coach Ken Kolthoff.
If you’ve been around the Cedar Falls boys football team at all in the last few decades you probably know him.
He was a standout football player back in the 1980s with the Cedar Falls Tigers and the UNI Panthers.
I’ve been fortunate to get to know Coach Kolthoff a little bit these last few years through our CF Rec Center Sauna conversations…
AND
His upbeat, welcoming, and even keeled energy is a blessing to those he comes in contact with.
Coach Kolthoff has positively impacted so many kids in various ways.
My brother, Derek Peck, was a notable running back for the Cedar Falls Tigers from 1992-1995 and shared these words about his experiences under Coach Kolthoff:
“I loved Coach’s presence. He was a coach I had a ton of respect for and worked harder to gain his praise than anyone else.
I knew if Kolthoff gave me a compliment, he wasn’t blowing smoke, and it meant a lot coming from him because of how good of a player he was back in his day.
Basically, he motivated me to be better and tougher. I didn’t want to let him down.
I didn’t feel that way about any other Coach.”
Coach Kolthoff has impacted so many young people through his years of Coaching.
I know the legacy he will leave will be IMPACTFUL and PROFOUND.
Thanks Coach Kolthoff, for being this week’s’PROFILE OF AN ELEVATED ERNIE!’
Keep being KIND Coach!
If you see Coach Kolthoff,, tell him I said HI!
FYI, I had a really cool photo of Coach Kolthoff from his playing days at UNI but unfortunately can’t find it.
Sorry for the stock photo!
GO WIN!!!
