Join us for our last event of the semester, Wednesday May 6th at 6pm! We’ll be sitting around Lawther Field near the Campanile on campus. Please bring your own towel or blanket to sit on. Also, if you have an art project, journal, or coloring book you’ve been working on, please bring it! Or you can come to just hang out and chat! The Rod Library has free art supplies for check out if needed. We’ll see you there!

Hello, I’m Katie O’Brien, and I teach ASL at the
University of Northern Iowa. Today is “Live Purple,
Give Gold” is a day powered by Panthers like you
who believe in our students and the future of our
university, helping to support our university
programs. Maybe you’re a graduate, community
member, or a friend who believes in UNI students.
Your support strengthens the our program and our
university.
Our ASL program supports both the ASL classes
and the Deaf/HOH Teaching Minor at UNI. We are
the only program in the state of Iowa that allows
people to become licensed to teach Deaf/HOH
students.
Our ASL program also supports the Deaf community
by seeking presenters and Deaf businesses to
collaborate with. This mutually beneficial supports
our students and the Deaf ecosystem. Please
consider donating today, no matter how much… $1,
$5, maybe $150? THANK YOU for supporting our
ASL program and our students here at the University

Today is National ASL Day!! Here at DCE we are proud to create spaces where people can practice their ASL through real-world experiences, while also gaining an understanding of the Deaf community. Let’s spend the day celebrating this beautiful language and the Deaf community!!

This Thursday, April 16th is UNI’s Day of Giving - Live Purple, Give Gold. This is a day where people can donate to different programs related to UNI to help support them and their goals. If you are able, we would love it if you would consider donating to DCE! You will be helping us by supporting and sponsoring future events for students and the community to enjoy. Next Tuesday, April 14th, we will have another escape room event! This will be at Escapology (2520 Melrose Dr. Suite E, Cedar Falls, IA 50613). We will have two sections - one from 6:45-7:45pm and one from 8-9pm. Please use the QR code or the link below to fill out the RSVP form for the event. YOU WILL NEED TO PAY FOR YOURSELF.
