Thank you for joining us last Sunday at the 2nd CJ Archery Academy Tournament and Event.

We hope everyone enjoyed a wonderful time with family and friends during the event.

This past year, all CJ Archery Academy members have given their best efforts, and at this event, everyone who participated was a champion.

The trophies were awarded to Erika Han, who served as captain of the CJ Archery Team, and Joshua Lee, the vice captain, in recognition of their dedication and leadership.

For the upcoming term, Joshua Lee has been appointed as the new captain, with Joohwi Park serving as vice captain. We trust they will continue to inspire and lead their teammates by example.

The trophy was also awarded to Songha Park, who served as captain of the Korean American Archery Association of Texas, in recognition of outstanding dedication and leadership.

The Korean American Archery Association of Texas, serving by President Coach Hongeun Jang, was established last year and has supported the founding of an archery club at Round Rock High School, one of the top high schools in the Austin area. Songha Park is currently a student at this school.

Moving forward, the Korean American Archery Association of Texas will continue to dedicate itself to serving both the Korean American community and the broader Texas community. In addition, Noori Song has been appointed as captain of the Texas KAAA team, with Harang Yoon serving as vice captain.

Wishing you all a joyous holiday season and a fantastic start to 2026.

CJ Archery Academy Shines at 2025 JOAD U.S. Open with One Gold and Two Bronze Medals

Albuquerque, NM – CJ Archery Academy, based in Cedar Park, Texas, achieved outstanding results at the 2025 JOAD U.S. Open held in Albuquerque, New Mexico from July 16 to 20. Now in its third year since opening, the academy continues to rise as a respected name in the archery world, garnering recognition from USA Archery.

The academy's athletes brought home a total of three medals:

🥇Gold: Songha Park – U21 Women’s Recurve(Guest)

🥉Bronze: Joohwi Park – U18 Men’s Recurve(Guest)

🥉Bronze: Arin Oh – U13 Women’s Recurve(Guest)

Gold medalist Songha Park, captain of the Korean-American Archery Association of Texas, began her archery journey just a year ago. Remarkably, she earned a silver medal at the Texas Outdoor State Championship just one week prior to the national competition. Competing in the Olympic-distance 70m U21 division, her gold-medal finish at the JOAD U.S. Open is a testament to her rapid development and athletic background—she played competitive volleyball throughout her youth.

Arin Oh has also been making waves in the Texas archery scene. She won gold at the Texas Indoor State Championship only six months after picking up the sport and later secured silver at the Indoor Nationals. At the JOAD U.S. Open, Arin impressed once again by clinching a bronze medal in the U13 division.

Coach Hongeun Jang, founder of CJ Archery Academy and a former professional athlete and USA Archery Coach, expressed pride in the team’s performance: “With 877 archers competing from across the nation, all ten of our athletes demonstrated great determination and focus. Facing seasoned competitors at the largest national event of the year, they gave it their all and delivered impressive results. I’m especially grateful to the parents for their unwavering support.”

He added, “Beyond medals, this tournament was an invaluable experience for all our archers. We’ll continue working hard and look forward to even stronger performances in the upcoming competitions.”

CJ Archery Academy Shines at Texas State Outdoor Archery Championship with 15 Medals.

CJ Archery Academy, led by Coach Hongeun Jang, achieved outstanding results at the Texas State Outdoor Archery Championship held in San Antonio, TX, on July 12-13. The academy’s athletes brought home a total of 15 medals-8 gold, 4 silver, and 3 bronze-marking - a significant milestone in the academy’s third year of operation and gaining attention within the Texas archery community.

Gold medalists:

Jaden Lee (U21 Men)
Noori Song (U21 Women)
Yejun Jang (U18 Men)
Jordan White (Para U18 Men)
Gene Kim (50+ Men)
Grace Walter (U15 Women)
Calla Khamapirad (U13 Women)
Saahas Chakra Chidurala (U10 Men)

Silver medalists:

Joshua Lee (U21 Men)
Songha Park (U21 Women)
Joohwi Park (U18 Men)
Lakhith Engimuri (U13 Men)

Bronze medalists:

Hyerin Na (U21 Women)
Erika Han (U18 Women)
Luis Na (U15 Men)

Among the standouts was Jaden Lee, one of the first students to join CJ Archery Academy. He won bronze just nine months after beginning archery at the 2023 Texas State Championship, followed by a silver medal in 2024, and now a gold in 2025-showcasing steady growth and perseverance.

U21 female athletes Noori Song, with a background in Kendo, and Songha Park, a former volleyball player, both showed exceptional athletic ability. They began archery just a year ago and already compete at the Olympic distance (70m), securing medals at the state level.

Coach Hongeun Jang commented, “In this large-scale event with over 100 participants, all 20 athletes from CJ Archery Academy gave their best and performed remarkably well, even against seasoned competitors.” He also expressed gratitude to the supportive parents and added, “Regardless of the results, this competition provided valuable experience for all our students. We will continue to work hard in preparation for the JOAD U.S. Open National Tournament taking place in New Mexico this week.”

CJ Archery Academy welcomed a new coach earlier this year-Jorrin Song, who joined in April to assist Coach Jang. Coach Song was a member of the U.S. Junior National Team in 2018 and recently moved to Austin, Texas, after graduating from college in Virginia.
