Five Seasons Figure Skating We sell and service Jackson Ultima and Edea skates. Sharpening offered for hockey and figure skates. I do not have a stand alone shop.

Text, email, or message me to set up an appointment for sharpening, a fitting, or other services. Five Seasons Figure Skating is the business name of Suzanne Manninen. Suzanne is a full-time figure skating coach in Cedar Rapids, IA. Suzanne is also is a professional level dealer for Jackson/Ultima brand skates and blades and Edea boots. Suzanne has been working with Jackson since 2006 and provides all of the standard boot and blade services: Heat molding, mounting, sharpening, stretching, and punching out. Suzanne is not happy until you are completely happy with your purchase:)

Normally, this FB page is focused on my work as an authorized Jackson Ultima and Edea dealer/technician - and. of course, the cats 😺 I am also a full time coach, but I prefer to not post too much about that. Every once in awhile, however, I like to acknowledge something really special that one of my students has accomplished. I think that landing your first double axel is definitely something special, so here is a shout out from our club to Zadok for landing his double axel! He landed his first one two weeks ago and still has it 🤩

This is the Edea Ice Discovery skate package that includes either the Motivo or Wave boot along with an MK Galaxy blade. The Motivo is currently out of stock, so this entry level adult skater decided to go with the Wave boot. I punched out the navicular area for her and she was quite happy with the intitial results : ) All adjustments that might be needed to make the skate fit better, are included in the purchase price. So there will never be any extra charges for as long as you own the skates : ) Miss Beans makes a brief apearance in the second picture. I couldn't convince anyone else to pose today : )

This is a pair of Freestyle skates that I recently delivered to an adult skater who is in the LTS program in the Quad Cities. She is super enthusiastic and has set some goals for herself which will be much easier to acheive with the proper pair of skates : ) In the first photo, you can see Miss Beans checking out the box. In the second photo, Miss Beans is lounging in the bathroom sink while I put my hair up in the mandatory coach's bun : )

I just delivered a pair of the updated Jackson Ultima Mystique skates to a skater in Basic 5 in the LTS program at ImOn Ice in Cedar Rapids. He started out LTS with the intention of getting into hockey, but realized that figure skating suited him much better : ) The Mystique now has a Mark IV blade instead of the Mark II, which has a more aggresive toe pick to make learning single jumps and spins much easier : )

This is a pair of Jackson Ultima Evo skates that I recently sold to a skater in Bettendorf who takes LTS lessons at the River's Edge ice arena in Davenport. She was pleasantly surprised with how much better they fit compared to the rental skates she had been using : ) Also pictured is Miss Beans - inspecting the box before I package the skates back up for delivery 😹 ⛸️

One of my adult students just upgraded their boots to the Edea Concerto from a five year old pair of Risports. She had already upgraded her blades fairly recently, so we were able to keep them. The blades are Jackson Ultima Apex Elite. After switching out the stock insole for one with more arch support and punching out the navicular area, she was happy with the results. She does have a narrow heel/ankle so we may still have to work on that. If you have a good skate tech, there are many different adjustments they can make to help your Edea (or any other brand) skates fit better : ) The second picture is of Mickey helping me to get ready to mount the blades : )

One of my students is upgrading their blades from the Jackson Ultima Legacy Lite 8 to the Jackson Ultima Apex Freestyle. Do you think she will like them? The Apex Freestyle blade has a more agressive toepick (agressive in a good way) to make double- and even triple jumps- a breeze : ) Both blades have an 8 foot rocker for added stability. Lainey and I currently use the Apex Freestyle blades and we have no complanints at all : )

Miss Beans was helping to inspect 7 pairs of skates that I sharpened on Sunday afternoon. I didn't mind it at all since my sharpener is in the basement which is cool even on the hottest of days : ) Thankfully we are getting a break from the heat on Tuesday.

This is a great snapshot of how many "paws" it takes to get a pair of skates ready for delivery : )

1. Satan is inspecting the package as soon as Fedex delivers it.
2. Miss Beans is making sure that I have correctly aligned the blades and that the laces are long enough. She is also checking that I have sharpened them to level with no chatter.
3. Finally, Pablo - the Senior Quality Control Vice-President - checks to make sure that the box itself meets our high standards.

This is a pair of Jackson Evo skates that was delivered to a very enthusiastic entry level skater from the Quad Cities. I just know that she is going to progress quickly now that she has the right skates : )
