💌 Postcards from the road and a gentle reminder that the shop's CLOSED on summer break through 9/21, friends.

We've had an exceptional first leg of our tour headed up near Rhinelander, Wi for this weekends Hodag County Ramble.

We took the ferry before climbing out of the Mississippi River Valley where we were graced with some lovely camping in the Wisconsin driftless. A long couple of days of rain and headwind followed but assured some deeply restful evenings at camp. We're about 250 miles in with a couple more days of riding in front of us, and the weather looks perfect for a slow poke into the Northwoods.

The soul is invigorated and the heart is full. Miss you ❤️

📣 We’re takin’ summer break, friends!

It’s been a full-gas summer of bike shop jammin' and we’re real thankful for the seasonal wave, but the heavy liftin' crew here are ready to chiiiiill, so we’re putting down the tools and pickin’ up the soul with the tail end of this summer while it's good!

✨️The shop will be CLOSED 9/12 - 9/21, so we can ride bikes and recharge. We’ll be back in action Tuesday, 9/22✨️

⚙️ If you’re one of the many folks who have a bike ready to be picked up from our service queue, we’re open our usual hours this week and would love to send you rolling before we close up. Same goes for all of you who need some service or bike shop therapy; swing through before we wrap it up this Friday, and we’ll make it happen.

The shop fam’ is packin up our bikes and rolling east for the week, pokin’ and campin’ our way to our favorite late summer bike weekend, jeffrey g. frane Hoday Country Ramble near Rhinelander, WI. It sounds like there’s a solid crew of folks from Iowa Hodaggin’ this year, so we’ll look forward to connecting with you all there!

❤️ If you’re still reading, thank you for being cool and supportive of our brief reprieve and gracing us with some well-deserved downtime. We love you all and can’t wait to share some tales from the trip when we get home.

Cranksgiving Cedar Rapids '26 is Sunday, November 8th, and for the tenth year rolling, we come together to ride bikes, fill our neighborhood food pantry, and uplift an invaluable resource that's serving hundreds of food-insecure familys in our community every week.

All the details are live, registration is open, and we're making plans to make this year real special. ❤️

Our guy Ben Caskey and the whole Caskey family have been a pillar of the local cycling community here for years. They're also some of the most kind and supportive folks to grace our shop since we opened our doors. ❤️

Ben has been talking about goin' all in on a new mountain bike for some time and let us whip up this stunner ALLIED CYCLE WORKS BC40! It's easily one of the best examples of a modern cross-country bikes true potential, with full carbon chasis built up with a SRAM MTB XO kit, RockShox SID Ultimate suspension, and all perched on those rad wavy We Are One Composites Whisp rims.

A lovely group of folks out for last night's cruise to Jazz Under the Stars and a warm embrace of this idealic midwest summer weather we've had on tap this week.

Thanks for joing in on the fun, folks, especially to all Chain Reaction Bike Hub friends that pulled up for their final weekly group ride of the season with us! We felt like a big ol' parade float rollin' into the park, and you're all such a blast to spend the evening cruising and connecting with. 💚

🎷Big love to the good souls at 88.3 KCCK | Jazz Radio who bring this vibrant tradition of music and community to Cedar Rapids every year. Its a truly special experience and we look forward to it every summer!

🎷 Let's cruise! ✨️ The season finale of 'Jazz Under the Stars' is going down this Thursday at Noelridge Park and of course we're going to ride to the 88.3 KCCK | Jazz Radio party!

Meet us at the shop ready to roll by 6pm for a very chill stroll down the CVNT to our roomy grass seats at the park. Bring your buds, pack a blanket, bring a snack + bevi' or grab some food truck action, and celebrate one of Cedar Rapids coolest summer traditions with us. Its the best!

🔦Bring your lights! The smooth Jazz lines flow until 9pm. Be sure to plan ahead and choose your own route home for the night.

One of the last few framesets from our All-City Cycles archives takes life as an all-around towner for our friend, Laurie! 

The final run of Gorilla Monsoon framesets to roll out of production were cooked up with this lavender splatter paint and a testamint to what made All-City bikes so fun.   etc.

We built this one up as a practical-fast townie with a straight shootin' Deore kit buttoned up to the TERAVAIL cockpit and perched on some Suzue LTD wheels with the chubby 47mm GravelQueens. The whip rips!

We're packin' it out and setting up shop for the big core4 show this weekend and so hyped to rally with everyone getting in on the action! 

🎪The shop circus tent will be setup on the 40-mile and 60-mile course and your neutral support for the day, friends. 🔧🍌 We've got our shop tent fully stocked for all you baddies gettin' after it and the dance party bumpin' around mile 20/40 with everything else you need to crush that final half.

Wishin' good speed and safe shreds to all of you getting after it tomorrow!

Of all the reasons we hear folks come through the shop for a new bike, the very best reason is "because my kids want me to go ride with them".

Our friend, Ellen, got their little one hooked up with our local youth Cedar Rapids Youth MTB Club and it's been a full summer of learning and loving mountain biking. Ellen says she gets asked to go riding most days and finally decided it was time to join her little shredder on the trails.

We pointed Ellen to a Ibis Cycles Ripley AF because its a downright incredible bike for the midwest and beyond, but especially because the Ripley platform offers super generous standover clearance where most options in the category were too tall. Good stuff, Ibis Cycles !

So stoked for you and your lifetime riding buddy, Ellen! Thanks for letting us help get the family rolling this summer. ❤️
