42nd Annual Billy Westmoreland Invitational now in the books. 42 years is amazing for any bunch of smallmouth fisherman to show up for a grueling two days on Dale Hollow Lake chasing brown fish.

42nd Annual Billy Westmoreland Invitational blasted off 61 boats this morning out of Cedar Hill Maria with 18 degree weather. Seems like the smallmouth like the cold weather. 51 boats weighted in 97 smallmouth at 4pm on day one. Day two weigh in will be 11am tomorrow

Had a couple visitors from northern Indiana that were celebrating a birthday Saturday night. Joel and his son Zaylor which got to break in a new rod & reel. Lot's of first, proud to be part of it.

Brian and Easton from Lexington joined me last night for a lesson on fly n rind or as we now call it hair jigs. Didn't take long for these two seasoned anglers to catch on. Surface temp has dropped a couple degrees 88 Monday 85 last night.

George and Noah traveled from Fort Worth to join me for a night on Dale Hollow. Bite still holding steady and these Texas guys filled a bucket list item. Couple of 1st, one being Noah catching smallmouth on a hair jig. I belive he might have picked the right boat for that. lol.

Would like to thank Dr Kevin Hayes for introducing me to the Reeder siblings , Colton, Corbin and Callie. I had the pleasure of introducing them to the night bite. Water temps hanging around mid 80's and jig bite still producing. Several PB and several first. Happy Independence Day.

Water temp 88 degrees under a full moon and still catching good smallmouth up tight. Fish are chomping..
Main lake points, flats, shallow drops. Bumble bee is the ticket...Quality time with family and friends.

Back on night shift again with my fishing friend Johnny from Wendyville. Last vist was in March, a little rusty a first, but got the stars to line up to finish the evening.

Late June never disappoints. Water temp already up to 85 at midnight. Been fishing with Eric from California, now living in Monterey. I think I'm going to be able to teach him southern fishing. Also been with MrB a bunch, been struggling getting on picture fish. Fish are biting like sharks now.
