A parent might say:

"My teen is struggling to stay organized."

But the best support depends on what's happening beneath the surface.

🧩 Coaching can help build routines, planning skills, and accountability.

💬 Therapy can help when emotions, anxiety, or relationships are creating additional challenges.

🤝 Parent consultation can provide strategies to better support growth and independence at home.

No two journeys look exactly the same and that's why we believe support should be personalized.

Together, we'll help you find the approach that fits your family's goals.

One of the most common questions we hear from parents is:

"My teen is capable, so why do everyday tasks feel like such a struggle?"

The answer isn't always about motivation.

Planning, organizing, prioritizing, shifting between tasks, and following through are all skills that can be challenging, especially for individuals with executive functioning differences.

Understanding what's behind the challenge is the first step toward finding strategies that truly help.

At Emerging Adulthood Consulting, we work alongside young adults and families to build practical skills, confidence, and routines that support greater independence.

Progress starts with understanding, not assumptions.

Some teens understand social skills when you talk about them — but using those skills in the moment can be a completely different story.

Joining a conversation. Figuring out what to say next. Reading the situation. Handling an awkward moment. Recovering when something goes sideways.

That’s what we’ll be practicing in EAC’s Virtual High School Social Skills Group.

This is a small, supportive, neurodivergent-affirming group for teens ages 14–18 who could use more real-time practice with friendships, conversations, social confidence, and navigating everyday situations.

No pressure to perform. No forcing anyone to “act more typical.” Just practical support, guided practice, and a small group where teens can build skills in a way that feels manageable.

Many young adults leave school with knowledge and potential, but still feel unsure about everyday responsibilities.

Things like managing a schedule, navigating friendships, speaking up for themselves, preparing for a job interview, or building consistent routines don't always come with a lesson plan.

At Emerging Adulthood Consulting, we focus on the skills that help bridge the gap between academic success and real-world independence.

Our goal isn't to replace school or therapy—it's to complement them with practical, personalized support that prepares young adults for what's next.

Because adulthood is more than a milestone. It's a journey of learning, practicing, and growing.

Not every family needs the same kind of support—and you do not have to figure out every option at once.

Here is the simplest way to find your starting point with EAC:

• Parents and caregivers looking for ongoing guidance and community: start with The Messy Middle.

• High schoolers who need supported social practice: explore the TEFA-approved Virtual Social Skills Group.

• Middle schoolers who benefit from face-to-face practice: explore EAC’s in-person social skills group. This program is not TEFA-funded.

• Families who need a practical resource right now: explore the ND Communication Lifeline or When I Miss You.

TEFA families can search these exact codes in the TEFA marketplace:

• Virtual Social Skills Group: EAC-SOC-VIRTUAL-6
• ND Communication Lifeline: EAC-ND-LIFELINE-27
• When I Miss You: EAC-WIMY-EBOOK

You only need one clear next step. Visit the link in bio or message EAC with the word START, and I’ll help point you in the right direction.

When a young adult is learning to navigate greater independence, the journey often involves more than one person.

Parents are learning when to step in and when to step back.

Young adults are building confidence through new experiences.

Families are finding new ways to communicate, problem-solve, and grow together.

That's why Emerging Adulthood Consulting offers more than one type of support. Through coaching, therapy, social skills groups, workshops, and parent resources, we help families build the skills and confidence needed for everyday life.

Because lasting growth happens when everyone has the tools to move forward together.
