Performance optimization is entering a new era.

It’s no longer about collecting the most data.

It’s about identifying the right biomarkers, establishing your personal baseline, recognizing meaningful changes and translating those changes into action.

VO₂max, lactate, HRV, heart-rate response, body composition, metabolic markers, sleep and training load can each tell part of the story.

But the real value comes from connecting them.

At FASTLAB, our approach is:

Measure → Interpret → Prescribe → Monitor → Adapt → Retest.

Because the ultimate goal isn’t a better dashboard.

It’s a better-performing human.

The way you run can reveal valuable information about how your body moves. 🏃‍♂️

A movement assessment can help identify patterns that may be affecting efficiency and performance, giving you useful information to guide your training.

Because improving your running is not always about simply running more—it can also be about breaking limiting movement patterns.

Your training shouldn’t be either. 💪

Every athlete brings a different training history, physiology, schedule, and set of goals to the table. Understanding those individual factors can help create a more purposeful approach to performance.

At The FAST Lab, we use assessment and data to help athletes better understand their bodies and make informed decisions about their training.

🫁 What if your pain isn’t just about the painful area?

Your body doesn’t work in isolated parts.

The way you breathe influences rib cage movement, trunk pressure, stability and how you move under load. When pain, stress, fatigue or poor mechanics change your breathing pattern, your body may compensate elsewhere.

That doesn’t mean “your diaphragm is causing your back pain.” Pain is far more complex than that.

But your breathing pattern can be an important piece of the puzzle.

Try this:

👉 Place your hands around your lower ribs.
👉 Inhale slowly through your nose.
👉 Feel whether your ribs expand 360°—sideways and backward, not just upward into your chest.
👉 Then try the same breathing pattern during a squat, plank or strength exercise.

Can you breathe while maintaining control without excessive neck tension or breath-holding?

That’s information.

In precision exercise medicine, we don’t just ask “Where does it hurt?”

We ask:

Why is your body moving this way?
What is compensating?
And what can we change?

We integrate breathing mechanics, movement, strength and exercise physiology to identify your individual limitations and create a targeted plan.

Don’t just chase the pain.

Understand the system.

Breathe better. Move better. Perform better.
