Meet our coaches!


Coach Isaac is a rising sophomore at Patrick Henry College. He is a prospective American Politics and Policy Major and is the Head Research Editor at the Aletheia Journal of Liberal Arts, Patrick Henry College's journal for the Classical Liberal Arts Department. Coach Isaac is also a violinist for the college's Chamber Orchestra.

In high school, Coach Isaac competed in NCFCA's Region VI for two seasons. In his senior year, he qualified to the regional championship in Lincoln-Douglas Debate, Persuasive speaking, and Apologetics. In debate, he completed a perfect 6-0 preliminary run by winning debate finals and finishing first in the region. This stellar finish earned him a slot to the National Championship, where he finished as a Lincoln-Douglas National Octafinalist at the 2021 NCFCA national championship.

In his free time, Coach Isaac likes to run, read, play music, and explore the outdoors with friends.

Fun fact: Coach Isaac is part of a folk band called the Lubben Brothers with his triplet brothers.

Meet our coaches!


Coach Jason hails from Columbia, South Carolina and is currently a rising sophomore at Patrick Henry College. He is an American Politics and Policy major and is affiliated with the college's Chess Club and Intercollegiate Studies Institute Chapter.

In high school, Jason competed in NCFCA for three years, specializing in Lincoln-Douglas Debate, Moot Court, and Informative speaking. As a junior, he finished 1st place in Lincoln-Douglas debate at the season's first regional qualifier and was the top Lincoln-Douglas speaker at the season's second regional qualifier. As a senior, he qualified to the National Championship in Moot Court, Informative Speaking, and Persuasive Speaking. In the realm of research, Jason co-authored Lasting Impact's 2021-2022 Lincoln-Douglas Debate Guidebook, which provided students with over 100 pages of definitions, values, contentions, and case outlines.

In his free time, he enjoys leisurely driving, listening to music, chatting with friends, reading, and working out.

Fun fact: Coach Jason cannot snap his fingers.

Hello everyone! We are so excited to announce the 2022 Rhetorica Speech & Debate Camp, which will be held at Windsor Road Christian Church on June 9th-11th from 9am to 3pm. This camp will guide your student to becoming a more confident speaker, thorough researcher, and winsome debater. We have a team of two competitive speech and debate alums who are passionate at helping students reach their fullest potential as communicators. Attached below is all the information for the camp, including our camp objectives, philosophy, and schedule.
