After careful consideration and evaluation, I have made the difficult decision to close our doors on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at the end of the business day. Despite our best efforts to sustain Curves of Champaign/Savoy, the ongoing market volatility and unforeseen economic circumstances have led me to make this difficult decision.

I want to extend our deepest appreciation for the valued memberships and to the great Curves coaches throughout the years. It has been a pleasure having you as a part of our Curves family, and I wish you all the best in your fitness journey.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and at Curves we want to encourage you to get educated and take action to help in the battle against breast cancer.

Currently, the average risk of a woman in the United States developing breast cancer sometime in her life is about 13%. This means there is a 1 in 8 chance she will develop breast cancer. This also means there is a 7 in 8 chance she will never have the disease.

The American Cancer Society's estimates for breast cancer in the United States for 2024 are:

• About 310,720 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in women.
• About 56,500 new cases of ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) will be diagnosed.
• About 42,250 women will die from breast cancer.*

While the statistics may be sobering, there are some things you can do to help reduce the risk of developing breast cancer. Stay tuned for more information.
