Our approach to wall design was to optimize for routesetting by creating super versatile features. We used big geometric panels and avoided triangles and hard transitions. We put a lot of effort into selecting angles and the ratios of climbing terrain throughout the space. We’re really psyched with the results.

The attention to detail that went into every angle and aspect of these walls cannot be over emphasized. Our team is proud to have designed the walls ourselves and we are excited to have build them. , a member of the Arches founding team, took the lead over the course of nearly a year to get this design right. Hats off to Nick! We are obviously stoked out of our minds to see them made a reality this coming year.
“To me, designing a gym is about listening to the community and doing the necessary research. I’m able to use my background in Industrial Design to make sure that the decisions we’re making are justified and that we communicate our designs as clearly as possible throughout the process. Arches was designed for everyone. It is a culmination of my climbing and design experience with input from many other experts in and out of the climbing industry and community.” - Nick Hayes
