Balance is important in anyones life. Too hot or too cold and you will be burned either way. Teetering the line of not too much is the biggest balance.
Kajukenbo will always have a heavy demand on the student. Thats why we begin their training at a young age to help them develop the understanding of how to balance.
Balance like the phrase we use at the end of class.
"Strong body we are strong warriors but we are always warriors of peace."

Want to learn more about us?
Check out our website at

Kajukenbo is about balance. We practice both the hard and soft styles, the closed fist and the open hand weapons, the striking and grappling arts, the traditions and the future all together.
If you want to learn more about yourself and how to become better not just in self defense or fighting but also in your health and wellness ask us questions and hopefully we can help you or if you want to come try us out to see if you can add more to your life you can join us on the mat and become the martial artist you have wished for or desired.

We are an Ohana and will welcome you with open arms (and maybe a quick grappling session). And bring to you the family that adds to your life.

Testing day!!!!!!!!
We have a large group testing today.
If you are interested in seeing what we do and how we do it. We have a few spots we can reserve for you to come watch our testing.

Just give us a message or comment below and we will reach out to you directly.

There are so many styles to pick from it can be confusing as to what is right for you.
What if there was a martial art that has multiple styles and can build a martial arts foundation to be able to train in any style afterwards?
Kajukenbo is the way.
Our martial art has a blend of multiple styles in one proven and tested curriculum.
🥋Usa Boxing
🥋Muay thai

These traditional arts all bring values of Honor, Discipline, and Integrity.
Want to learn more?
Ask us any questions you have and we are happy to answer them.

Our first belt testing at the new school location is this Wednesday. We have almost 20 students testing and Sifu cannot begin to express the gratitude of this experience. Sifu also wants to never forget all the work he did to get to this place and to use those memories to build the next generation to carry on the craft of KAJUKENBO and much more.
Sifu says this often. " I am a firm believer in traditions not for sake of replication but for the unity that traditions bring."
In Kajukenbo we have a lot of traditions and there are many times today that traditions are being reduced or even eliminated.
Its time to bring traditions and traditional values to the forefront without the traditions we lose our past and without a past we cannot create a better future.

Join us this week and come see our testing to witness firsthand how and why we are different and we should be your first thought for:
♣️Martial arts
♣️Self defense
♣️Health and Wellness

even if you do not choose us keep us as your first thought.

Being in the martial arts is a lifestyle and we still need to properly fuel the body to continue to train as well as to become more conditioned.
"Can't drive to Disneyland on an empty tank!"
Sifu Joseph has a pretty awesome recipe that is gluten free and anyone can eat.

"Tuna & Sweet Potato “Bruschetta”
• 3 medium sweet potatoes, cut lengthwise into ¼ inch slices
• 1 tsp. olive oil
• 2 cans Tuna (packed in water) (do not drain)
• 2½ cups cherry tomatoes, halved or quartered
• 1 clove garlic, minced
• ⅓ cup packed basil, roughly chopped
• 1 Tbsp. olive oil
• 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
• salt and pepper, to taste

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
2. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
3. Place sweet potato slices in a mixing bowl and toss with 1 tsp. olive oil.
4. Spread sweet potato slices out evenly on baking sheets, giving each slice a little space.
5. Bake for 20 minutes. Flip to the other side and bake for 10 more minutes until golden brown.
6. Meanwhile, toss the tuna (AND tuna water), cherry tomatoes, garlic, basil, olive oil, lemon juice, and salt and pepper in a large mixing bowl.
7. When sweet potatoes are done, let cool.
8. Top sweet potato slices with tuna mixture, and enjoy!

Don't like the idea of Tuna on this thats fine you can still enjoy it as a regular Bruschetta.

Sifu's Weekly Newsletter: What Are You Aiming at?

Zig Ziglar once said, “If you aim at nothing, you will hit it every time.” And each of us knows from our own experience that he is right. The general flow of human life tends to be toward ease and comfort. One day flows into the next, and many of us never quite get around to turning our good intentions into reality.
Those ‘good intentions,’ while no doubt admirable, tend to remain unrealized mainly because they are too vague. Vague ideas are impossible to focus on and aim for; they are moving targets.
Do you have moving targets in your life? Perhaps you want to eat a more healthy diet or you want that next Kajukenbo belt rank with flying colors. Maybe you just want to establish a regular training routine and stick with it this time.
The keys to your success are two-fold: steady the target and create momentum.
How to stop a moving target
Imagine a fighter trying to hit a small opening on a target. He begins to aim, but then the target suddenly moves to the right, and before he can position himself to aim again, the target darts to the left. Will he ever hit that target? Not likely.
Without setting specific goals, your good intentions are exactly like that moving target. You would like to lose some weight, feel a little better, make a change in your diet--but without clearly defined goals and methods, you can’t focus and make it happen.
The way to steady the target so you can finally hit the bull’s eye is to define your goals and write them down:
• Why do I train martial arts?
• What kind of changes do you want to make in your lifestyle and diet?
• How many days per week do you want to train? How Many Can you train?
• Do you want to become a Kajukenbo black belt one day?
• How much strength training do you really need?
Once you know where you want to end up, you are much more likely to get there.
But you have to start moving toward your goals. That is where momentum comes in.
Can you create momentum to reach your goals?
In his book, Eat that Frog, Brian Tracy discusses the Momentum Principle of Success. In Tracy’s words:
“This principle says that although it may take tremendous amounts of energy to overcome inertia and get started initially, it then takes far less energy to keep going.”
There is much wisdom in his words. Sometimes, the hardest part of reaching a goal is just getting started. That first day of doing things differently or the first experience of bypassing an unhealthy treat in favor of a food that will give you more energy can be daunting. It isn’t easy and it certainly isn’t fun.
So how do you get that momentum? How do you start moving? Accountability is the answer. Having someone else involved in your efforts can be the most important factor in your success.
It is hard to change lifelong habits on your own. You need radical motivation that comes from involving others in your efforts. Meeting belt testing deadlines, making commitments, and entering tournaments all provide an external motivation that will carry you through even the toughest temptations.
And once you get started, you will find that the momentum principle kicks in and it becomes easier and easier to keep going.

So can you Start NOW??
You can make that moving target come to a screeching halt and blast the bull’s eye right out of it by taking a few minutes to write down what you want. Don’t make it your goals too broad; be specific. And then begin brainstorming ways to get others involved with you; that will provide your momentum. Success is within your reach.
You can do this!
Oh, and remember, we’re here to help you the entire way!

Sifu Says Sunday- "Message in a Bottle"
When was the last time you got an actual handwritten note in the mail?
Or even a simple postcard?

How did it make you feel? Pretty special, I’m guessing.

Let’s share the love with this week’s BKMMA challenge!

This week, let’s set aside some time to send a or more handwritten card, note, or letter to brighten someone else’s day.

That’s right- just ONE, SINGLE card! Not too hard, right?!

You could reconnect with an old friend or coworker, thank a business associate, bring joy to a family member, or just say hello to a neighbor.

You don’t have to spend a lot of time on this project – just a few sentences can mean so much.

There’s something about seeing someone’s handwriting in a note that gives it more meaning than an email message or text could ever have – it’s more thoughtful and personal.

Nowadays, most of us only get bills and junk in our mailboxes.

Let’s make checking the mail fun again!

Are you in for the challenge this week!? Post below and let us know! Also- if you want to snap a pic of the front of your card before you send it, I’d love to see it!

And each student that participates in this challenge will receive a prize personally from Sifu.
So take action and share the love.

Today is the final day to Pre register and save Money on a seminar of this magnitude with Professor Jeff Macalolooy.

If you are a Martial artist and you also practice multiple styles you should definitely be training with us next week.

"Taking action is the step to conquering the enemy of yourself."
