Never dive into shallow or unknown waters. Doing so could increase your risk of a head, neck, or back injury, possibly loosing consciousness and increasing the risk for a drowning to occur.

If a child is missing, please check the pool first. Those precious seconds could make the difference.

Having a safety plan at home will help prepare you and your family in case of an emergency. We also recommend practicing your safety plan at least monthly, just as First Responders practice their skills on a regular basis.

Always keep a safe distance from canal banks and educate your children to never swim or play in the canals. The steep and slick sides make it very difficult to climb out, among other hazards.

Children can drown in as little as 2" of water. Please empty all buckets, tubs, containers, and kiddie pools after each use. Making sure they are turned upside down will prevent them from collecting water and posing a potential drowning hazard.

While enjoying water activities, please make sure to appoint an adult water watcher. Water watchers should be CPR certified, sober, and free from distractions. It is also important to rotate or switch water watchers to allow breaks, this will ensure there is constant adult supervision.
