Squat cleans and running aren't exactly my way to shine. Luckily, John has been a good runner and has gotten pretty good at squat cleans. The run felt a little harder than planned. Keeping up with John became the plan. It works anytime I run with AJ or John. The people you keep around you can help you go places you didn't think possible. We have room for you, too.

Meals that fuel your goals start with the purchase. If the purchase never happens the meal can’t happen. Beginning the build up to a great week. I’m sharing these brussel sprouts and collard greens because that price is great! The avocados are 3 for a dollar! For the win

In the excitement of weight loss, it's easy to think of the perfect time, way to start, and journey. It's easy to forget how easy it is to put off weight loss until tomorrow, next week, next month, etc. Every time I reflect on the start of my members' journeys, the perfect part is missing. The "worth it" is never missing. I'll brag about Andrea for a moment.
Andrea is down 15 pounds, enjoying being stronger and her first Crossfit Open. I can't find what part of Andrea's journey was perfect or easy. For starters, commuting an hour to work one way and You Make Crossfit is in Chandler, AZ. Starting the work didn't happen for a year or more. Her work schedule changed daily and weekly at the beginning. There are lots of family and friends that have lots of celebrations. She hadn't been active in years. How did Andrea navigate all these challenges?
One thing that helped was choosing to avoid counting calories. Counting calories was an option. Focusing on real food and controlling quantity with serving sizes was easier. Easier to be consistent and forget about feeling tired at work. The process gets easier down 15 pounds and stronger than ever.
Yes and no. Andrea has invested in habits that are becoming more and more automatic. Good habits make things easier because you don't have to think as much when change is required. Her work schedule is about to change drastically. And just like that already changing her gym schedule to mornings. Scheduling is powerful. We all (Andrea especially) know it won't be that simple. The investment will be worth it. If your schedule won't allow you to improve your health, reach out. Use the power of scheduling. I would love to help.

2022 was incredible, including the hard and the challenging. Some highlights for me were:
As a community, I saw all the effort pay off with weight loss, strength, toning, and confidence.
We were able to help more people that might not get help otherwise.
For 2023 I want to keep that momentum growing. I like to reflect on what worked and what didn't.
I'd encourage you to do the same. Not because of New Year's resolutions. The success rate is around 10%. Real change starts now, by being decisive.
Time is guaranteed to pass with no guarantee of progress. Imagine in 1 year if nothing or not enough has changed for you. How would that make you feel?
I know that you, me, and everyone in this world are meant for even more. Share your thoughts by commenting below or dm.

Showing up before sunrise and the designated start time and SMILING. Who does that? Makes it more rewarding for me to show up. That is what these ladies do for weight loss and fitness. Isn't waking up early, weight loss, strength, and conditioning hard and dreadful? How is that possible? Plenty of reasons I'll talk about an important one now, achieving goals today. It all starts with setting goals of creating good habits. Just show up is the first one and keep showing up.
Showing up smiling is a foundational habit. Then you can improve weekly and daily goals like moving better and eating better. Before you know it, you are surprising yourself. Janet and Ana were on a high about achieving more challenging push-ups, jump rope skipping being more consistent, and the pistol squats were the icing on the cake.
If you are looking to get started. Start waking up early and walking and/or stretching. And if starting proves challenging, remember the people around you can make all the difference in the world. We are here to help.
