Want to Really understand Effective Velocity?

Explained: Lets say you and I are in both batters boxes...you are a lefty and I am a Right Hand Batter.....our pitcher throws a ball right between us....belt high at 65 mph...... the Release speed was 65 to you and to me.....

Now let's say that pitcher threw the ball up and in to you.....now you can not hit that pitch unless it is in front of you....so "effectively" that pitch becomes faster to you...because you have to react to it faster.....

But down and away to you...becomes slower...you can hit it off your front leg or your back leg....you have more time....that pitch, "effectively " is slower to you.

First time using SmartMitt game “turn out the lights”…she thought it was a game…coaches watched the focus and concentration to turn them all off with 10 pitches…a perfect score is 9 targets hit with 9 pitches. Give Tori a thumbs up for the effort.

SmartMitt gives you Release Speed, Plate Speed, and Effective Velocity......here is EV Explained.

Example of a SB player - executing a up & in pitch to a RHB.Increases her speed by 3 MPH and hits the target perfectly.
